Civil Informationing vs. Last Century's "60's Style Protest Tactics"

The concept of "Civil Informationing" came to my mind when I was involved in planning and executing several typical anti-war protests against the upcoming and ensuing war in Iraq while living in Reno, NV in 2002, 2003 and 2004. What stood out to me THIS time around is that NOW we had the Internet...we were only doing the exact same "dated" things that were developed 40 years earlier (again!) And there was not very much integration between the "Internet and Information age", the people protesting in the streets, and the citizens observing our actions. What was frustrating was that although the VAST MAJORITY of feedback was against the war [interesting AYE?], citizens walked and drove past without becoming more informed about what was going on.

It was clear to me that activists' "public protest tactics" needed a change...a complete overhaul...because the "age old" models of protest activities were clearly not working in spite of the fact that we had some new tools at our disposal. In the years since, more and more excellent videos, DVDs, You Tubes, handouts and other "teaching tools" have been developed...mostly at the hand of many wonderful 9/11 Truth activists. YET, the confrontational "challenge authority street actions" have remained exactly the same as they were some 40 years ago.

Our neighbouring family and friends in America is facing another loss of freedom, "speech" by the HR1955 law now sitting in the Senate to be debated and voted on. The intention of HR1955 is to ultimately criminalize those who question 911 (paint 9/11 groups as terrorists) The very DVD I gave Mr Hawn by www.ae911truth.org Blue Print for Truth was listed along other terrorist organizations considered under the HR1955 law as shown in the attached video by Brass TV .

Earlier this month, special Brasscheck TV correspondent Goodman Green posted a short video about HR 1955. In just three days over 100,000 people downloaded and viewed it. Now the bill is in the Senate under a new name S 1959. This bill makes it possible for the government to criminalize free speech, by declaring it a form of "terrorism." Who does this bill target? Congressional hearings show they're painting a bulls eye on the 9/11 Truth Movement by likening it to violent terrorist groups. We can stop this and this video shows how. The Virtues of a Disorganized Resistance

A merican opposition movements have always focused on the notion of organization. It has always been their goal to organize the people. Their hope has been to wield the collective power of the disaffected, downtrodden, and exploited as a single unit against the concentrated power of the ruling class. While their hope has been noble, their methods have been foolish. Organized resistance has many drawbacks. These drawbacks have seldom been discussed by the opposition. I believe that the only effective resistance is a completely disorganized, decentralized, and leaderless opposition.

W hile, on the face of it, this claim may impress you as absurd. Of course it seems absurd! It is counterintuitive. Never the less, it is the ONLY method of resistance that will work within American society. I will explain why organized resistance has never worked in the United States. In addition, I will promulgate a new formula for effective resistance.
Why has organized resistance failed in the USA?

T here are many reasons for the failure of organized resistance. The two primary causes of failure are intimately connected to the culture of the United States and the political system laid down by our nation's founding fathers.
The Cultural Cause

A mericans, culturally, are anarchists. Few Americans realize this. Most Americans have a false understanding of the term "anarchism." However, upon examining the beliefs of your average American, you will find that most Americans:

* do not trust leaders
* do not trust government
* wish to be left alone
* value their privacy
* think of themselves as independent from society
* do not believe that there is a systemic solution to their problems
* believe that others should be free to do what they choose, provided they do so in private and do not harm others

W hile it is undeniable that political culture in the United States often speaks to the opposite of the above list, it is also undeniable that most Americans register as neither Democrat or Republican and most Americans do not vote. Thus, despite the political culture, most Americans choose not to participate in it. This is not only due to their belief that the American political system is hopeless, but also is due to the cultural clash between the wider culture and the political culture.

A ny attempt to organize large numbers of Americans into a single political movement will fail. Any attempt to create an organization led by a strong group of leaders will fail. Americans reject submersion into the collective. In a sense, Americans are anti-collectivists.
The Political Cause

A merican political culture is not ideological. Politicians attempt to draw ideological distinctions between the two major parties, but these distinctions are a matter of splitting hairs. The only significant difference between the two political parties is the degree of compassion represented by the rhetoric of the two parties. Compassion is not a political concept. Compassion is an attitude. Thus, the two parties differ, primarily, in attitude and not ideology.

D espite this, there remain two political parties. One is prompted to ask "why?" If each party is basically the same, with respect to ideology, why do they not merge into one party? The answer to this question is best found in viewing each political party according to its true nature. American political parties are, for all intents and purposes, organized crime units. American political parties have more in common with the Mafia than they have with their counterparts in more democratic societies. Like Mafia, each political party competes for control of territory in order to maximize the benefit to their business constituency. Like Mafia, the political parties attempt to mold the system to maintain their positions and access to resources. Like Mafia, the political parties force the average citizen to pay "protection" under the threat of violence (taxes). Like Mafia each political party uses the "protection" money collected for its own advantage.

B y defining our political system in terms of the "majority" and the "opposition," our Constitution enshrines this two mafia system into law. Each Mafia passes laws to exclude new comers from the game while focusing the rest of its energy in destroying the other Mafia.

T hus, any resistance movement that chooses to become an organization is in competition with these Mafiosi. The deck is stacked and the power of the state, wielded by these organized crime units known as the Democratic and Republican parties, will waste the time and resources of any newcomer. A newcomer can only succeed by rejecting the political system, draining its resources, and undermining the rule of the state.
How is disorganized resistance superior?

I n some societies, dissidents become heroes. In American society dissidents are systematically slandered, libeled, harassed, and villainized. If they become successful, they are murdered (e.g. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X). In the American experience, movements that look to leaders are decapitated. Leaders are a liability, not an asset.

O rganizations can be (and are) infiltrated. Organizations can be taxed. Organizations have legal responsibility. Organizations have membership lists and lists are wonderful tools for the oppressor. Organizations take on a life of their own. They struggle to exist and their continued existence takes priority over their mission. Organizations attract opportunists, power mongers, and attention seekers. Organizations tend to exploit their rank and file for the benefit of their inner circle. Disorganizations share none of these defects.

B ureaucracy cannot comprehend disorganization. Disorganization is invisible. The asymmetry of the relationship between organization and disorganization favors disorganization. Organization depends upon planning. Planning requires predictability. Disorganization cannot be predicted. This leaves organization at a disadvantage.

O rganization requires a supply chain. Supply chains can be disrupted. Disorganization depends only upon the resources of its members. Supply chains that do not exist cannot be eliminated.

D isorganized movements rely upon swarming. Swarms are difficult to defend against. If you cut a swarm in half, you have two swarms. If you eliminate one of the resulting swarms, you still have a swarm. Disorganization breeds. Organization grows. The many and dispersed are a more difficult target than the large and concentrated.

O rganizations takes their steps by design. If the design is flawed, the organization fails. Disorganization relies not upon design but upon evolution. The motivating notions of disorganization are memes. Memes evolve and memes compete. This process improves the motivating notions of disorganization. This process produces multiple courses of action. While some may fail, others are likely to succeed. Taken as a whole, disorganization is more likely to succeed.

T he important thing to remember is that it is easier to destroy than to create that which is designed. Thus, the cost to those who lose the manifestation of their design outweighs by leaps and bounds the cost it takes to destroy it. That which evolves is cheap and when an effort is created to destroy the evolved entity, it merely mutates and evolves again, adjusting to the new conditions. As a process that fosters evolution, a movement based on disorganization will continue to survive, evolve, and expand without cost. The resource constraints placed upon the designed (e.g. government and corporate) and those absent from the evolved (a decentralized and disorganized opposition movement), favor the later.
The limits of disorganization

I do not propose a complete absence of organization. Instead I propose a disorganization of units. Units can be as small as a single individual, or as complex as cell of individuals working together. Cells may be internally organized, but they should not be statically organized cell to cell. The movement should have no commander. It should have no central committee or governing body. No global plans should be made. The modus operandi of each unit should be to think globally and act locally. Ideas, strategies, and tactics should float freely and compete as memes within the medium of the collective conscious.
Conclusions

W e need to construct a disorganized movement. You need not apply to join. In fact, it might be better if you did not contact me, or anyone except those with whom you wish to form a unit. Your ideas, strategies, tactics, and lessons learned should be spread anonymously or by word of mouth. When you act, should you decide to act in resistance, attribute your actions to "the Resistance." The growing din of disorganized disruption will be felt as an earthquake. There will be trembles. There will be pre-shocks. The tension will mount and, in time, there will be an earthquake. When that earthquake strikes, the organized edifice of the oppressor will fall like a house of cards.

From Oct. 15 to 21, CHLY hosted its annual fall
on-air membership drive and featured shows with
many special guests discussing the value of independent
media. Raymond Geisler hosts Unbought &
Unbossed: Canadian Political News & Views, Canada’s
only 9/11 truth radio show.

During Geisler’s show this year, guests from six
different Canadian communities representing the
9/11 truth movement came together to show their
support for independent media. Guests included
Drew Nofl e from Vancouver, Mitch Lazaroff from
Edmonton, and Brad Brehm from the Kootenays, all
representing their local 9/11 Truth Society; as well
as Wayne Prante from Canada’s newest 9/11 truth
group in the Fraser Valley/Greater Vancouver area;
and Jessie Schroeder from Parksville, who hosted a
9/11 memoriam in Parksville.

The lively discussion focused on bringing 9/11
truth issues to the greater public and ways to work
within the established media without appearing as
cartoon versions of hooligans. Geisler says that his
guests “have frustration with the corporate or the
mainstream media today and their omissions and
distortions of the events of 9/11. Therefore, they
know the importance of independent media.”

Geisler’s show was well-received, as evidenced
by the many pledges he received from listeners all
over the Island, and as far east as Chilliwack. He
says the program “showed the unity of Canadians
from various regions in their quest for a more democratic
and responsible Canadian government.” Geisler
re-enforced his message that “independent media,
such as CHLY, is playing a vital role in bringing
[…] relevant issues to Canadian citizens.”

Soon, Geisler plans to host a 9/11 “teach-in”,
which is a lecture accompanied by a PowerPoint
presentation showing photographic evidence. Everyone
who comes will receive a free DVD documentary
as well as an outline of the presentation.

Street Action Event Oct 11th/07 - 9/11 Truth

This month's street action took place just outside our local college here, the College of the Rockies. It was our hope to spark the interest of active minded "young folk" that might soon take up the cause, because ....they are the future.

So, we were there from 11am - 2pm. There was a huge amount of car traffic driving by our sign, but not too many people took the time to come over and talk to us. However, we did talk to about 5-people, and all it took was 1-person showing interest to make the day worth while.

As I recently heard on Truth Revolution Radio:

Be the change you want to see happen.

Anytime we get out of the house and take the truth to the people, we are making change for the better!

Where is Everyone?

There are 25 members on this group, yet only 3 people have posted in the last months. Where is everyone? The time is now to accelerate, not slow the pace. As we found out in Cranbrook last Tuesday September 11th, the overwhelming majority agreed that 9/11 was an inside job. Not one person came out to debate or deny the facts we presented. This was after plastering downtown with posters, and having 5000 information cards inserted into the local newspaper to advertise it. Not a single denier came out to defend the official arab/Bin Laden conspiracy theory.

So where is everybody? Have 'they' gotten to you<LOL>?

The video employs clips from a 2004 "60 Minutes" Interview with 2001-2003 Secretary of the Treasury, Paul O'Neil. O'Neil,a Permanent Member of the then formed NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL (NSC), was eventually FIRED in 2003, for what he OPPOSED and witnessed in the Early days of the JUST elected 2001 Bush Whitehouse.

He was appalled at the Secrecy and Contradictions in the George Bush he thought he knew. It was apparent a new agenda was rolling...and he wanted NO part in it. War plans were in the works, long BEFORE the 911 World Trade Center attack. Far from a tragedy, 911 was an OPPORTUNITY for the Bush/Cheney White House to proceed with Plans.

A general strike has been called for 9/11/2007 and is said to be gaining momentum. Nationwide strikes have been used in other countries widely to register protest by bringing activities to a halt, and I've always wondered why they don't happen in the U.S. I remember a general strike in India back in the 70s when I was there. Nobody working and big marches everywhere.

So on 9/11 America will give the simple idea of protest through total stoppage a try. It will be interesting to see how widespread it will be. The rules are simple, no work, no school, hit the streets. Stop everything. I guess it's a kind of national holiday called by the people themselves directly. It may be the first People-declared holiday in history: Sept. 11th, forevermore.

Indictment of a Government on Holiday

A White House run by the war lobby and an absentee Congress created the following issues which unite citizens in a demand for action:

* Failure to end the Iraq war

* Failure to conduct a no-holds-barred 911 investigation

* Inaction on impeachment hearings

* Elections that become less believable and meaningful with each cycle

* Inaction on health care for those in need

* The willful, deliberate dismantling of the Constitution

The list goes on. Citizens are barely acknowledged, rarely heard.

This strike comes just a few days before another large set of marches and protests is to happen on 9/15. In the main march in Washington people will march from the White House to the Capitol.

At a blog called Smoking Mirrors (entry for Sept 1st) the author talks about this strike which many thought we would never see, and adds to the idea of the strike the idea of not buying anything but food and drink that day. No purchases. No business as usual.

Some excerpts:

"Everywhere I go and everything I read and everything I see indicates more people coming to realize that the world hangs in the balance every day this dysfunctional machine of empire continues."

"There are two possibilities, things will get worse or things will get better. Americans will take the power they possess and act upon it or they won't. If they do not, then at some point down the road they will be forced to take action because life will have become no longer worth living and it will be much harder and bloodier to accomplish it then.

"I'd like to ask every reader of this blog to make this point to everyone you know and meet. Inform them of the 9/11 General Strike. Send them the link. Make it happen.

"America can ill afford an economic emergency. She can less well afford to continue to foster a global emergency upon the lives and well being of the world. There is no army of organized terror that can work it's will upon the world unless America feeds that terror in order to accomplish a corporate agenda. We now know that there was no Bin Laden behind the 9/11 attacks. We now know that hundreds of things that should not and could not have happened happened against every law of coincidence and physics."

The strike is also about the 911 coverup. The blogger goes on:

"I constantly encounter people who have put no time into studying what happened on 9/11 and whose looping disclaimer is that 'they' couldn't cover it up when it is prima facie that they are engaged in covering it up all the time. The idea that a government would not conspire against its people is lunacy. Of course governments conspire against their people. That is the nature of government and the reason why checks and balances are needed to keep it honest. History is filled with glaring examples of governments which have conspired against the populace. And when corporations run the government it is automatic that they would conspire because profit has taken supremacy over conscience."

I don't know if strike would have any effect, but if they are followed wide at least it gives the people the chance to see their own power of numbers. And I guess the general strike (very popular in India) is, in a way, the ultimate act of civil disobedience (see Ghandi ) : We will sit down here and we will do absolutely nothing. That is a non-violent thing to do (though modern cynics might call it passive aggressive!).

Maybe a U.S. general strike will never have quite the impact of one in India. I think of this because India has about 3 times the population of the U.S. all crammed into one-third the space. Any disruption of any kind is somehow intensified and, being crowded together, everyone knows about it. And as for gathering a big crowd together, India is king.

If the thing about not buying anything that day is carried out I guess all retailers would notice. Almost no money coming in that day. Poor guys. Mom and Pop? I don't think it would be even a mosquito bite to the corporations, one of the main targets of the protest I guess. They won't feel a thing. Maybe the not-buying thing is questionable. I don't know.

We are like David thinking how in the hell are we going to avoid being destroyed by this Goliath guy? [If I were an alien in a UFO I think I would enjoy coming to earth for all this drama. Maybe our planet is their form of movies. Humans on earth might just be a form of entertainment to a higher life form].

[So for the enjoyment of our alien friends some people have decided to put on a strike to see what kind of (movie) scene that would be, whether it would have any pizzazz. Personally, I think everyone could really use a day off. Some will protest, but some will just enjoy laying around with snacks watching some kind of game with a ball on television and getting some needed rest].

Yeah. I like that. Let's have a strike! We've never really tried it in earnest. And it's good to make many tries, because it takes practice to eventually be able to shut down ALL commerce for a day.

I guess you could also say it takes a real stir in the collective unconscious to get it going, too.

In that mysterious and largely unknown universal consciousness, of which WE are normally not conscious, but is somehow the sum of all of us, our species knowledge, there may come an increasing almost electrical sense of alarm, fluttering from the collective unconscious to the particular. Suddenly an urgency awakens in millions at once, an urgent sense that something must be done, we must work together to stop the runaway train heading for our own destruction.

The Cheney Affair

Now that mainstream media bias is an established fact and recognized as
such by the mainstream reading and viewing public, the revelation of
Vice President Dick Cheney's total unilateral control over all levels
and branches of American government has not only raised eyebrows and
concerns of dictatorship, but for those politically astute, begs the
question as to why theWashington Post would be the journalistic vehicle
to publish the four-part June 24 through June 27 series exposing this
reality.

The Post's publisher, Donald E. Graham, has once again participated in
the annual secret Bilderberg conclave, the latter the principal
organizational player whose membership is made up of extremely
high-level international bankers, mass media publishers, corporatists in
both the oil industry and the military-industrial complex, and other
principal international political movers and shakers. Bilderberg's
primary objective is a one world global government, the New World Order.
And the NWO will be phased in via the European and then the North
American Union.

Is it safe to say that the most recent Bilderberg
<http://www.bilderberg.org/2007.htm>meeting, held in Istanbul May 31 to
June 3rd, considered the most vital issues confronting future global
government? And of course, those issues would have been 1) Iraq, and 2)
Iran. It is clear that American, British and Israeli control over Mid
East oil is definitely on the agenda in their lockstep, jackboot march
to deliver US all to the New World Order. This triumvirate is the
world's "real axis of evil."

Mountain ranges of corporate money have been provided to Congress by
lobbyists and corporatists representing the oil industry, military
weapons contractors, AIPAC, banking and media interests, to not only buy
into American government, but to where their "investments" have now
facilitated total control of America. They have replaced what was once
reserved as the exclusive representative domain of the people of the
United States, which allowed the latter their collective voice in
government.

And the people's representatives, after abandoning America's interests,
have turned over congressional war-making powers to Bush, who has in
turn delegated virtually all of his presidential duties to Vice
President Richard B. Cheney. And Cheney-Bush are profiting personally
via heavy investment interests in oil and an oil support industry giant
[Halliburton].
Constitutionally speaking, the Office of Vice President of the United
States of America has no duties. This inefficate position in the
executive branch serves only as President of the Senate, and then
functions legislatively only in an extremely narrow capacity to break a
deadlocked vote. Complaints about the "do-nothing" status of the vice
president's role and function date back toAmerica's first Vice
President, John Adams.

Considering the absence of constitutionally mandated responsibilities,
it should be clear that at least from a regulatory and legal standpoint,
there's little to nothing a vice president can do wrong; he has,
basically, no executive branch functions. And it is for this reason that
Congressman Dennis Kucinich's House Resolution 333, seemed at first, to
be a wrong-headed exercise in partisan politics hand wringing.

But that was before the Washington Post launched its four-part series.
The Post is a nationally recognized bastion of the American mass media.
It is the paper of
<http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/watergate/index.html>Watergate
fame, the paper of Bradlee, Bernstein and Woodward. And considering all
that the Cheney-Bush regime has done to launch NWO, the attempted
legalization of Mexican illegals, the private "negotiations" between
Bush and the heads of Canada and Mexico to dissolve totally our borders
to create a North American Union, the United States' unilateral
abolition of the Geneva Conventions and other international treaties
ensuring and protecting the sovereignty of independent nations, why
would Graham's Washington Post now attack Bilderberg's "dream team?"

Obviously, something is up with the planners and conspirators
maneuvering the human race into a one world global government. The Post
series, written by staff writers Barton Gellman and Jo Becker, would
never have been allowed off the ground and would have never been
accorded so much focus unless it was sanctioned and possibly even urged
by the Bilderbergs. And consider the appearance of the series so shortly
after the latter's annual secret meeting. So what's up?
It can only be speculated since the movement for global government is so
secret. That is why everything the Cheney-Bush crime machine does is a
matter of "national security." 9/11 was indeed an inside job perpetrated
by Cheney-Bush; it is the source of their unlimited dictatorial power.
But if they arranged 9/11, why the suspension of our Bill of Rights and
why the intense spying on Americans? The answer is obvious: they fear
Americans will find out, organize, and plan an armed rebellion.

They do not fear al Qaeda, because al Qaeda doesn't exist, or at least
it didn't exist in terms of planning and executing 9/11. No, Cheney-Bush
intend to enslave America, strip it of its national identity, and serve
US all up to the New World Order. Multizillionaire international banker
David Rockefeller has already admitted to the latter effort.

Apparently, something has happened to interfere with the bankers' plans
and schedule. Perhaps Cheney-Bush have provided too much evidence of
their criminal and treasonist intentions, and the threat of an armed
rebellion is now looming larger than ever. Perhaps a military coup is in
the wind. Or perhaps, the unpopularity of the Cheney-Bush dictatorship
is causing even the world conspirators to fractionalize. Whatever it is,
something must be up to have triggered the Gellman-Becker series.

The exposé has now provided solid evidence that Cheney is running the
show and is therefore definitely impeachable. As Bruce Fein, a
constitutional lawyer and a former associate deputy attorney general
under Ronald Reagan wrote in his June 27th article, "Impeach Cheney" and
posted in
<http://www.slate.com/toolbar.aspx?action=print&id=2169292>Slate, "Under
Dick Cheney, the office of the vice president has been transformed from
a tiny acorn into an unprecedented giant oak. In grasping and exercising
presidential powers, Cheney has dulled political accountability and
concocted theories for evading the law and the Constitution that would
have embarrassed King George III."

Fein continues: "The most recent invention we know of is the vice
president's insistence that an executive order governing the handling of
classified information in the executive branch does not reach his office
because he also serves as president of the Senate. In other words, the
vice president is a unique legislative-executive creature standing above
and beyond the Constitution. The House judiciary committee should
commence an impeachment inquiry. As Alexander Hamilton advised in the
Federalist Papers, an impeachable offense is a political crime against
the nation. Cheney's multiple crimes against the Constitution clearly
qualify."

During the Clinton administration, Bill Clinton "wrote legislation" via
executive orders. The opposition's beef at the time was that such
presidential fiat executive orders were not national law, but were
instead confined to operational directives within the executive branch
alone. Now Cheney explains his vision that executive orders do not apply
to the executive branch of government, and if they do, they don't apply
to him because he has decided he isn't in the executive branch of
government. That's not what is written in the Constitution. His arrogant
defiance of the United States Constitution and an executive order that
applies directly to him constitute the very political crimes attorney
Bruce Fein pointed out were in violation of the rule of law of this
nation.

And although the Gellman-Becker Post series started out promisingly
enough, and in spite of the fact that it still evidences a refreshing
air of professional journalism, Part I of the series defining Cheney's
criminal dictatorial control gives way later in the series to a
condoning tone and a dimension of approval articulating Cheney's
exceptional talent in cutting through the mire of government bureaucracy
red tape to arrive expeditiously at common sense solutions. The plight
of the Klamath basin farmers in opposing the federal Environmental
Protection Agency, a cause resoundingly favored by "conservatives" who
hate the bureaucratic stupidity of big government, was presented by the
"liberal" Washington Post as a case in point as to Cheney's astonishing
and beneficent vision. Huh?! Championing the rights of individuals
trying to earn profits over caring, compassionate, Big Brother
government is now a cause for the Washington Post?

As stated, the series does indeed expose Cheney's dictatorial control,
but before the series is over, this dictatorial control is offered up as
"good" dictatorship. Perhaps this is the real purpose of the series, to
admit to Cheney's total control of America, but to blunt its horror and
danger by pointing out evidence of beneficence. And considering that no
more mention of this horrible anomaly in American government can be
found anywhere in the mass media, it would seem that its timing and
shock effect would wear off quickly given the newspaper mentality and
short collective memory of the American public. Again, it is most
difficult to surmise the real intent of the series.

Part I is the most shocking in terms of describing how one individual
controls ALL in American government. Here's an example from the opening
paragraph: "Just past the Oval Office, in the private dining room
overlooking the South Lawn, Vice President Cheney joined President Bush
at a round parquet table they shared once a week. Cheney brought a
four-page text, written in strict secrecy by his lawyer. He carried it
back out with him after lunch.

In less than an hour, the document traversed a West Wing circuit that
gave its words the power of command. It changed hands four times,
according to witnesses, with emphatic instructions to bypass staff
review. When it returned to the Oval Office, in a blue portfolio
embossed with the presidential seal, Bush pulled a felt-tip pen from his
pocket and signed without sitting down. Almost no one else had seen the
text."
The article continues: "Cheney's proposal had become a military order
from the commander in chief. Foreign terrorism suspects held by the
United States were stripped of access to any court -- civilian or
military, domestic or foreign. They could be confined indefinitely
without charges and would be tried, if at all, in closed 'military
commissions.'"

Is this the way American laws should be written? Does this align with
Constitutional constraints that provide for a separation of powers and
checks and balances to ensure individual freedoms? "Suspects" are now
designated as such by the government's executive branch, and proof in a
court of law is now no longer required. And what is to differentiate
between a terror suspect and any other kind of suspect? And how about
members of a political opposition are they also "terrorists" because
they disagree with this criminal administration? Only Cheney and Bush
now have this power, which they gave to themselves!

Even members of Bush's own administration were outraged by this
dictatorial fiat. Gellman and Becker elaborate after members of the Bush
regime found out about the fiat while still in the dark as to its
origin: "'What the hell just happened?' Secretary of State Colin L.
Powell demanded, a witness said, when CNN announced the order that
evening, Nov. 13, 2001. National security adviser Condoleezza Rice,
incensed, sent an aide to find out. Even witnesses to the Oval Office
signing said they did not know the vice president had played any part."

As much as Cheney covets total control protected by total secrecy,
Gellman and Becker note that, "Cheney expresses indifference, in public
and private, to any verdict but history's, and those close to him say he
means it." But isn't this the same outlook that can be attributed to
Hitler and Stalin? Isn't it the same indifference and arrogance that
justifies "breaking some eggs to make an omelet?"
In the opinion of this writer, there is more behind Cheney's quest for
unlimited power, shrouded in absolute secrecy, and all-encompassing in
every matter of federal government control. And the article makes it
clear, that anyone who crosses Cheney gets wasted. Gellman and Becker
point out to the sharp differences of opinion and the conflicts that
former EPA Administrator Christie Todd Whitman had with Cheney,
differences that led her to eventually resign from the agency. They
mention former Attorney General John Ashcroft's differences with Cheney,
also leading to his resignation. The article documents Cheney's meddling
with both the EPA and the Department of Justice. And his pressuring the
CIA for fraudulent intelligence to justify the invasion of Iraqis now
well known.

The Washington Post's Gellman-Becker series is, whatever the reason for
its airing, an absolute masterpiece of journalism, but not for reasons
that are immediately obvious. It's not the writing style, nor is it even
the revelations resultant from intense investigative reporting. Perhaps
the real benefits of the article have been totally missed by Graham and
the Post's executive staff. The expose answers two not so obvious
questions: first, why do we have such an incompetent fool as president,
and second, why does such an incompetent fool wield so much power and is
so assertive regarding "his" decisions? The series provides the answer:
Dick Cheney.

For early on in the quest to rid America of a very popular yet very
destructive president, Cheney's name came up as a dedicated American to
replace a dedicated internationalist. And this may be the real reason
for the subdued attack/exposure on Cheney. It may not be his fascism
that offends, but his nationalism. Perhaps it's Cheney's vision for a
New World Order controlled byWashington that bothers the Bilderberg
internationalists. And it is this same nationalism which turned off the
bankers to both Hitler and Stalin. But there is no need to speculate the
connection between Cheney and Bush.

Undoubtedly, Cheney was the GOP's pick to replace Clinton. But because
of his heart problems, Cheney would never win a presidential election.
Enter stage right, G. Bush, a simpleton, and an obedient and virtually
clueless stooge. Bush serves not only as the buffoon heat sink for the
GOP dictatorship, but is also its "decider" as related in the Post's
series when describing how Cheney writes law and Bush decides to sign
without either reading or understanding what it is that he is signing.
The series explores how Cheney decides on everything that is within the
federal government's purview.

The series explains Cheney's involvement and direct supervision and
control over the Department of Justice, his intimidation of the EPA, his
power over the CIA, his total control of foreign policy, and his total
control over the White House staff and Bush. Gellman and Becker try to
paint the picture that Bush retains some identity distinct from Cheney's
oversight, but at least for this observer, it simply doesn't work. I'm
convinced that Cheney is behind EVERYTHING this dangerous, corrupt and
criminal regime has perpetrated. And that would include 9/11!

As Dr. David Ray Griffin has pointed out in his latest book, both the
9/11 Commission report and the government-sanctioned released tapes
falsify the timeframe wherein Cheney was in the bunker on 9/11. After
reading the Post series, can there be any doubt as to who was in charge
on that awful day? Can there be any doubt as to who really ordered those
WTC buildings to be "pulled?" Can there be any doubt as to who decided
that certain attorneys in the Justice Department were to be let go? And
for Hillary and Congressman Nadler, can there be any doubt as to who
made the phone call to EPA Administrator Christie Todd Whitman directing
her to lie about the condition of the pulverized glass, concrete and
steel in the dust and smoke of the disintegrated WTC buildings? Hillary
demanded to know who gave the order to Whitman; now we know!

The benefit of this journalistic effort has little to do with
presentation; it has everything to do with timeliness and the solving of
the types of mysteries such as Hillary and Congressman Nadler were
looking into. Can one imagine the anger in Whitman for having to take
the fall for the very guy that forced her to resign? Here are Gellman
and Becker again: "Stealth is among Cheney's most effective tools.
Man-size Mosler safes, used elsewhere in government for classified
secrets, store the workaday business of the office of the vice
president. Even talking points for reporters are sometimes stamped
'Treated As: Top Secret/SCI.' Experts in and out of government said
Cheney's office appears to have invented that designation, which alludes
to 'sensitive compartmented information,' the most closely guarded
category of government secrets. By adding the words 'treated as,' they
said, Cheney seeks to protect unclassified work as though its disclosure
would cause 'exceptionally grave damage to national security.'"

And, "Across the board, the vice president's office goes to unusual
lengths to avoid transparency. Cheney declines to disclose the names or
even the size of his staff, generally releases no public calendar and
ordered the Secret Service to destroy his visitor logs. His general
counsel has asserted that 'the vice presidency is a unique office that
is neither a part of the executive branch nor a part of the legislative
branch,' and is therefore exempt from rules governing either. Cheney is
refusing to observe an executive order on the handling of national
security secrets, and he proposed to abolish a federal office that
insisted on auditing his compliance." Have you ever seen a better
description of a total dictatorship?

If the evidence wasn't there before, it sure as hell is now! Cheney is
absolutely guilty as charged, and Congress now has the evidence.
Congressman Kucinich hit the nail perfectly on the head, and the time
for Congress to nail the Cheney-Bush regime is long overdue. Nothing
more needs to be written or said about the Cheney-Bush regime; it's now
all been said. And in conjunction with the continuously mounting
scientific evidence proving the 9/11 terrorist acts as being inside
jobs, we also know of Cheney's modus operandi and his commitment to
history instead of his required dedication to America and its people.
Has there ever been a more immoral character than Cheney capable of the
expression "the public be damned?"

As Bruce Fein wrote after reading the Post series, "Cheney must be
impeached!" Fein documents the long list of criminal activities the Bush
administration, now proven to be under the total control of Cheney, has
perpetrated against the American people and the entire human race for
which the administration, the Congress, AND the American people must now
all be held accountable for in the eyes of our Creator. How many letters
have you sent to your congressional representatives and senators? How
many discussion groups or activist groups have you joined or
participated in?

Should you come up with a negative response, then YOU are guilty as
well! Anyone who remains silent witnessing these egregious crimes and
the evil of merely one "human" being should consider themselves an
accessory, before, during and after the fact. It is time to impeach,
sentence and punish these most dangerous and evil criminals!

FOX wants war with Iran

Dear activists, colleagues and friends,

I remember very clearly the daily fearmongering led by FOX as they cheered for war with Iraq. The 24/7 images, sound effects, yelling and threatening were an ever-present drumbeat for war. We had to invade, and we had to invade now.. anyone who didn't see that was a traitor. They viciously attacked those of us who worked to get out the truth.

You'd think that with the complete failure in Iraq, those days would be behind us. Sadly, you'd be wrong.

FOX wants war with Iran.

It's almost too ridiculous to believe, but it's shockingly real. We've already compiled over 4 hours of FOX footage just in the last few months... the same images, sound effects, yelling and threatening that led the U.S. to invade Iraq is happening right now to sell a war with Iran. They are saying the exact same things!!

This time is different though. We're prepared, and we have the means to alert people to what FOX is doing. Everyone has seen the terrible tragedy and the awful price paid by so many Iraqis and Americans. We know this is coming, and we can stop it.

It was about this time in the lead-up to the Iraq war when the other TV networks started following FOX's lead. As CNN's Christiane Amanpour says in the video, they were intimidated by FOX into cheerleading for the Iraq war.

WE CANNOT LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN.

This is a critical moment, and we must send a message to the major television networks urging them to ask tough questions, be skeptical, and tell us what is really happening. They must not follow FOX down the road to another war.

Interesting Question From a Member of the Public

In downtown Cranbrook today, a gentleman came up to us and asked about the SPP/North American Union, and why we are opposed. Then he said something that threw me.

He said something along the lines of, "Might makes right in this world... Who would you have rather had win the cold war? It would have been a lot worse if Russia had won the cold war."

The question of course falls flat on a number of different logical levels.

From our perspective, the fact is that all wars in history including the cold war have been manipulated by the wealthy arms manufacturers, and however the wars were sold to us clueless masses, they have turned out to be get-richer-quicker schemes for the silk cravat crowd.

Why should we have to choose between psychopath A in a red shirt who is heinously bad, and psychopath B in the blue, who wants us to trust him, although he carries the stench of death upon him? Aren't we better than a mindless herd, to be whipped by the strongest thugs? Shouldn't people be in control of their own communities?

The mainstream media version of the world has 24 hour bombardment of people with propaganda through news programs and entertainment, telling people that the arabs are terrorists. Do you ever wonder who is really calling the shots? Who is shaping our public policy? Who is pushing the integration of North America? Who wants to harmonize our regulations, lifestyles and consumer habits with those of the US?

If they had to guess, most people would probably identify Big Business as being behind it. But what is "big business" in Canada exactly? Who are the key players, the untouchable CEOs.

They wield more power than our politicians, yet without the mandate of the people.
Don't forget that they are people just like you and I.

Not exactly - they are far richer than the average Canadian, much more intelligent (if intelligence is measured by the number of letters following your name), and they have a much smaller social conscience, if one at all. They focus on short term profits, not long term environmental and social costs.

In the past, our government was able to exercise some type of control over the actions of corporations. We were bestowing a privilege upon them, and although we allowed them to pursue their capitalist goals we put regulations and policy in place so that the balance of power was tipped, be it ever so slightly, in favour of elected politicians over rich CEOs.

That has all changed.

The corporations have gotten smarter. They realized that they have strength in numbers. They formed the Canadian Council of Chief Executives in 2005. Two of the members now sit on the more recently formed (and more misleadingly named) North American Competitiveness council, and one is the sixth richest man in Canada. Building a stronger economically and social Canada is what they claim as their mandate, and I admit that it's a noble goal in theory.If of course, you buy into the idea that economic prosperity goes hand in hand with social progress.

So what happens when they decide to join forces, and instead of a handful of people controlling a few million or billion dollars, they form a Council with it's members profits exceeding 750 billion dollars a year?

Voila! The Security and Prosperity Partership is a corporation's wet dream. They couldn't have asked for more if they had designed it themselves.
Look behind the scenes, and you'll see that's exactly what they did.

The member corporations have been lobbying successfully for years to bring the SPP to life. It puts us on the fast track to North American "harmonization". That's corporate speak for ensuring our regulations are in synch with those of the US and Mexico.

Regulations have long been the bane of industry. They are often cited as a hindrance to investment and growth. Words like "costly, unnecessary and overly complex" are used to descrive the CCCE's feelings about them.

On their website, the CCCE praises the results of NAFTA, claiming that it has resuted in increased investment, employment and incomes.

Instead, the reality is that we are losing jobs to cheap labour overseas, and the NAFTA tribunal has proved worthless in settling trade disputes between our country and the US.

This doesn't have to happen.

Don't be afraid of the corporations. We gave them the power, we can take it away. The first step is believing that it's possible.
