Greetings all!
This is a brief follow-up to the Student Gala we had on Thursday. I want to thank everyone who supported the event, and the dancers who made the event what it was! I was truly amazed at the time and effort each dancer put into practice (and costume) for his or her performance…it showed! And how courageous each dancer was! It’s not easy putting yourself out there, being vulnerable to an audience and others’ opinions. But this was the perfect space to make that jump. What a great atmosphere and supportive crowd! And you have to know, I get so overjoyed, so emotional, when I watch my students dance! I can see the progress each one has made and enjoy seeing the uniqueness and individuality of each dancer. And everyone was so enjoyable to watch!!! Including our tribal dancing guests! What beautiful moves and synchronicity! The Kootenay Hip Notics definitely added drama depth to a wonderful evening. And I can’t forget our inspirational drummers! Kris, Cody and Johnny did a fab job keeping the crowd shimmying and adding authentic flavour to the event!
My own performance? Well, if you were there you got to see my comedy act:) All I can say is that I’ll never wear that slippery velvet skirt again- that is, unless it, and the belt, are stapled to my butt! LOL!
See you next year!!!

Mon, December 11, 2006 - 11:31 PMHi Zahira,
The gala was fabulous. And as always it was a delight to watch you perform.
The venue was good, the food was delicious (and plenty of it).
Two thumbs up!!
We had fun.
Have a nice evening
