Deliverance is a West Coast legend. Having been an instrumental member of the Canadian electronica scene for over 11 years, he has remained not only current, but has left an unmistakable imprint with his sound. One of the original members of Vancouver's largest and most prolific production companies, Twisted Productions, Deliverance AKA Jeremie Voillot has played a large part in forging Vancouver’s rave and club scene from the very beginning. Signed last year to Canadian digital imprint ‘Sovereign House Records’ with Shawn Jacobson, his productions are now being released worldwide and receive radio play from some of Europe's biggest talent. Having opened for too many big names to list, his signature party pumping basslines combined with an uncanny ability to read the room leaves every dancefloor wanting more. Currently residing in Edmonton Alberta, he has joined forces with longtime friend and funky breakbeat dj Jroc and created the new DJ group the Soul'd Out Dj’s. They have Edmonton's busiest breaks, house and electro club night, "Rockstar Tuesdays" and show no sign of stopping soon.

Starbelly Jam Music Festival 2008

The 9th annual Starbelly Jam Music Festival will be on July 18,19,20, 2008
Crawford Bay, BC, on the east shore of Kootenay Lake.
web site: www.starbellyjam.org
If you have never been, its worth the drive. This is a diverse and fun family event, not like other festivals, but what one really wants from a festival. Where there is a fun happy nature to the audience, a trusting and community feeling, where adults and youth laugh openly, and almost everyone dances at some point because its better than OK. I look forward to this amazing event every year, hope you can make it.

Line up includes: many more than what is listed below.

Kinnie Starr (Vancouver, BC) MC-singer-poet-pop diva-beatnik-actress-feminist - draws on her Aboriginal heritage while breaking boundaries in the present.

K'naan (Toronto) As a young man, K’Naan forged a voice of urgency and authenticity that diverted from normal hip hop styles - one that reflected his context of war-torn Mogadishu, Somalia and his inner inspiration of culturally relevant poetry (like his poet father).

Mae Moore & Lester Quitzau
(British Columbia) The First Time Lester Quitzau and Mae Moore performed together as a duo was opening for Taj Mahal in 2002. They were received with standing ovations. There was clearly electricity between them.

Rembetika Hipsters(Calgary, AB)
Rembetika: A popular genre of Greek music comparable to the blues.
Hipsters: like the Greek Manges; cool dudes, hep cats in the know, those of a subculture on the fringe of society.

Creston Valley Fest, August 29-31 in Canyon Park Creston BC.
www.crestonvalleyfest.com
A few of my favorite Kootenay musicians are on the roster, great to see Billy Jive and Funktastic Five!
When going to this festival it is really good to camp, for it is in a campground, bring cooking supplies and make your own food for sure, this rustic and down home festival is opperated in a wonderful professional manner, its safe, clean, and well attended by an audience that really really gets into listening to the music.
The grounds are amazing, right up against the mountains, when that moon comes out over the stage at night, its an amazing festival experience.

UBERZONE ~ @ SpiritBar Friday May 30th!

early Bird TICKETS now available @ Eddy Music and Hume Hotel.
Friday May 30th @ SpiritBar

UBERZONE:
"I love the concept of the man-machine writing process, but one thing I realized while making this record is that there's a spirituality in human collaboration. As much as I enjoy working in the studio alone, having another input helps bring out new ideas... Speaking in terms of lateral thinking, it helped burn a few new neural pathways." Q

Uberzone is the brainchild of southern California native Q (named after the "gizmo" -loving James Bond character). Like his namesake, Q is a die-hard collector of all things electronic, and has been collecting electronic-music gear since his early teens.

His early singles, "Botz" and "The Freaks", released on taste-maker indie dance label City of Angels, were critically acclaimed club tracks that established Q as one of the leading American producers of breakbeat music. These singles were charted consistently by DJs like Florida's DJ Icey and the UK's Adam Freeland, among others. His remixes of Sarah McLachlan, The Crystal Method and BT also established him as one of the biggest names in the American dance scene. Spin Magazine named Uberzone as one of the six producers to create "the biggest beats ever."

Q does have Faith in the Future. "Sometime during my life I turned from a pessimist into an optimist. Faith in the Future ties into technology, electronic music and my lasting desire to live in the Jetson Age." Perhaps that's why Uberzone's debut album, "Faith in the Future" has a feeling to it unlike any other electronic album. It recalls influences from quirky sci-fantasy film soundtracks to "Planet Rock" to dream-pop to the energetic, future breaks that Uberzone has created in ways no one else can approach.
