Re: baby cigars
Sat, July 7, 2007 - 3:38 PMI was handed one candy cigar when Malati devi was born last June, a year ago. I know Govinda Dasi had made them in preparation for her own birth. These cigars were so clever - and delicious! - that I HAD to get the recipe.
20 sticks red licorice
1 med. package gummy bears
10 fruit roll ups
Grate the licorice and gummy bears on the smaller side of a grater to make thin strips (behold your candy tobacco!). Arranging the strips lengthwise, roll and roll them tightly together in a long coil shape, about the size of one cigar. Once they are compacted, roll a fruit roll up around the outside. At this point, it is mandatory that you wind thread around the outside of the "cigar" to hold it in place. On each end of the thing, tie thread tightly, so that it has a tapering effect.
Place the cigars into a dehydrator for twp hours, just long enough so that the fibers stick together and the thread can be removed. Clip them right at the tapered end. -

Re: baby cigars
Mon, July 16, 2007 - 12:53 PMI'm sorry vallari please forgive me! I would love to take some baby cigars like the ones you spoke of and shove several in my mouth and grovel at your feet drooling, "Please forgive me, Valleri! Please forgive me!!!!!!!111".........................
I didn't mean to offend you in any way, it's just that gummy bears are made with gelatin I'm not sure about fruit roll ups so I thought they might not be bona-fide to offer to Krishna since gelatin usually implies the boiled down hooves and gelatinous parts of slaughtered animals but there is also vegetarian gelatin they make that you can buy in Indian stores.
I'm sorry I sounded so puffed up I even offended the moderator of this Tribe but he can probably understand I was just tryiing to show the standard of not using gelatin gummy bears in Krishna's service. I am also sorry Jagadananda Prabhu for trying to instruct you it's just that I had already gotten the message from my guru that she is a gopi and an eternal assistant of Radharani so when I heard I had to wait before I could understand that I didn't feel that was right. I don't claim to know my siddha svarupa it's just that what I heard from my guru was so one way, there were no two ways about it. So naturally if she is a gopi and I become her eternal maidservant what will I be?
But she didn't actually say that "I" am her eternal maidservant she just said that she is. But if I can't become her eternal maidservant I will die!
O Radharani please make me YOUR eternal maidservant I cannot live without becoming one! Just like I contemplated in Vrndavana. Or did I actually become one by your causeless mercy within one moment? That special moment I cannot forget?
