This Saturday I hope you can come down to the Hive Gallery and see my sidewalk installation. This installation is new territory for me and I'm excited to see how it plays out. So, come by and say hello. This is part of the Hive's usual excellent monthly group show. December's theme is "Price...Less" - works for $200 or less. It includes featured artists Naomi Nowak & Carol Powell. Here's the details:

Stark and contorted figures haunt a downtown Los Angeles sidewalk. Imprisoned by piles of product catalogs from famous retailers and fabricated from the detritus of our consumer culture they confront the audience. Amidst this spectacle we are awakened temporarily from our stupor and reminded that we are the targets of the relentless sales campaigns that saturate our environment via billboards, television and the Internet. Are you and others addicted to conspicuous consumption? Are you tired of the resultant loneliness and desolation that our consumer culture fosters? Are You Product People?
