Are there any other jugglers/manipulators/enthusiasts interested in meeting up in the daytime and jamming/sharing/learning a bit? I've seen one or two in years past... Alas, I was not able to get tickets to this year's masquerade, but I might be in LA anyway...
The festivities approach so very quickly m'friends. This year our ambitions take us into into the Masque and Stories, to the very borders of Oberon's Court.
A Fairy Dress for a Very Good Cause - Help Me Help My Friends

Hello all,

I need your help getting the word out on a dress that I am selling.

On June 4th, my very good friends lost their 15-year-old daughter in a terrible car accident. I've decided to list my dresses on Ebay and donate whatever they sell for to them to help with funeral costs. It has been a devastating week and there is nothing more helpless than watching someone you love go through such terrible pain.

I've done a listing on Ebay for any one of my dresses or a custom designed piece, whatever the winning bidder wants. The listing started at only $20, but I'm hoping it will really skyrocket.

If you blog, or send out emails a lot, anything to help me help them would be more than appreciated guys.

Here is a link to the Ebay listing:

So, what does everyone have planned for costumes this year? And are you planning on going in the same costume both nights, or having a different one for each?

I'm opting for just one costume this year. I'd rather spend twice the money on one awesome costume than divide it up between two good ones, and I can do other things to the overall costume to change it up on different nights.

I have designed for the Labyrinth Ball last two years, and can accommodate just a few orders before the ball.

Please take a look at the professional costumes posted on my profile, and let me know if you would be interested having something created for yourself the year . . .

A Bard of the Harp seeks an Invitation to the Court

Good Nobles and Gentles,

I am a Bard of the Harp, called Silverwheel by the mortals of this sphere. Full long have I been in search of the court of the Goblin King, and while in that search I have the brought magic of my harp, my voice and my tales to those mortals who have chanced across my path. For a time they are filled with wonder for that magic that we know well, and sadness that this mystery is but fleeting.

I would like to be invited to bring the magic of my harp and my voice to the next Masquerade of Jareth (long may he reign!). Will one of those nobles who read this missive be kind enough to advise me how I may secure an invitation? I would be happy to send a copy of some of my music to that worthy who has the authority to invite me. Though it will only give only a glimpse of my craft, I will trust that noble's magic to recognize mine.

I tell stories that are grounded in myth, full of magic, and accompany these with a harp whose every vibration is answered in the hearts of her listeners. My next appearance, on the Ides of March, will include a telling of "The Hounds of Fionn Mac Cumhaill" a bittersweet tale of love between mortal and faerie.

I ask for an address to which I can send you a copy of my music, some pictures, and what others have written about my work. While I would like the official sanction that stage time confers, I would also be interested in a place where I may play, and sing, and let those who are drawn by my magic come near.

A brief glimpse of my craft can be found here: http://www.sonicbids.com/epk/epk.asp?epk_id=131679
There is a music sample player at the top of the page as well.

Abide in peace,

So, as we build pieces for Oberon's gaze, we're going in some rather different and elaborate directions for the Faerie court.

My quick question to the LOJ Tribe is, what sort of fabrics are you using to create both fey creatures and goblin creatures?

Selling my tickets (including two for saturday).

It turns out I can't make it this year, so I've put my tickets up for sale. Tickets for two, for both nights (ie including two tickets to the sold-out Saturday), for less than I paid for them. Spread the word if you know anyone in need! (Or anyone who would like to go to both nights but only has tickets for one - it would be a shame to get all dressed up for just a few hours on one night).

Tickets availible for instant purchase via ebay Buy-It-Now, item 120140813081
(Go to http://www.ebay.com/ and put 120140813081 in the search box)

Since I have to overnight mail them, I may end the listing early rather than risk there not being enough time to get tickets to a late buyer, so spread the word quickly! :-)

So sad I couldn't make it, I'll see you guys next year. And fingers crossed that from now on, every year the event lasts two consecutive nights! :-) I've crossposted this, so I apologise if you've seen it more than once, but time is so short now that any sale has to happen right away.
Wander through the ancient halls where the manuscripts of Sypher's Core have collected the legends of faerie and echoed the artifacts of empires. Through these elaborate gates, dreams take precious breath as Lords and Ladies dance amongst the fae and their dreams mingle upon unfinished
temples and forested realms. Here masked beauties wait alongside water nymphs as strings set a tone of enchantment in the air.

Quick Notes from Strider:

As I finish up this missive to our beloved patrons and noble friends, the Sypher artists are buried in their preparations. The Elvish Water Temples and ancient forests are beginning to take shape as the glittering realms within our dreams begin to solidify. The the festivities approach so very quickly m'friends. This year our ambitions take us into the heart of Faerie, to the very boarders of the etheral trees and Oberon's Court. Baby dragons are learning to fly as nobles and faerie creatures dance. Time approaches and Sypher's Royal Court shall open its doors for a weekend of magic.

Well, time burns, promising only to burn out. Enjoy the world around you, each little detail you perceive are the brushstrokes of creation.
Upon solid soil we place these dreams and with our hands we shall forge them.

Hi,
I'm attending the ball for the first time this year with three friends, and would like to know how free I am to create a costume? I've searched the photos and have some ideas. Are there any no-no's? Also, how do I network around to see if anyone has any extra tickets for the preshow? Is there any local restaurant that other people in costume might go before the show in costume so that we aren't alone?
Total newbie!

As many of you already know, the LOJ Hotel Block this year is completely booked, but the Renaissance has been extremely attentive to our needs and continues to try and accommodate everyone they can.

I think that Friday Night at the hotel going to be amazing. For years now, my crew has NEVER had the chance to go back to the hotel after LOJ, we're normally striking the sets until the wee hours of the morning.

This year, after building the sets, running the show and going non stop for weeks, we can sleep after the party in nice beds just down the street. . .

Or maybe I'll sleep through an afterparty. . .

"Please don't step on poor Lord Strider, it's the first nap he's had for a month"

The Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade is a fantasy event of unique character and inspiration. Costumes or formal wear and mask are required to enter the event. Costumes range from faeries and goblins to beautiful Victorian garb, elaborate armors, and period attire along with a host of fantasy creatures and characters. We encourage imagination and diverse interaction. Each year, Sypher Art Studios hosts the Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade to pay homage to our inspirations and submerge our patrons in a special event of art, music, dance and enchantment

-
Go to the Labyrinth of Jareth Website for more information
http://www.labyrinthmasquerade.com

Sypher update – June 11th, 2007.

One last note my dear friends, we're working hard in the studio for the next five weeks, preparing every corner of the Court for our distinguished visitors. This year, some of Sypher's most ambitious plans are worked and reworked to build new legends on the edge of our imaginations and a brighter stage to set these dreams upon.

Spread your wings, dear faeries and elvish creatures, may your travels be swift and safe as we prepare the gateways for these two nights of magic. . . For now, these mortal hands are busy setting the foundations, and time burns.

Hail.

I was trying to find out when more Saturday tickets will be available.

Will they be available at the door?

While my wife and I bought our 2 day passes in advance, we have some friends that would be excellent additions to the event who haven't bought any.

We are coming from a couple states away, so it would be best for them if they could get in both nights.

I am on the hunt for some fantasy-tribal costume gear for both Labyrinth of Jareth and Burning Man. I'm having a hard time finding stuff I really like and would appreciate any input or suggestions.

I am willing to do what it takes to get something I really enjoy and vibe with. But I'm also on the lookout for accessories I can use in piecing together some of my own costumes.

Thanks.

So, my noble friends, it looks like many, many, many trips to the LA Fashion District for cloth. Do we already know what we are looking for?

I know Beth is going to be scrambling for two costumes for me and Tim. . . How many outfits are you all working on right now, for we have some more stiching to do and I'm sending up a signal flare.

Lost: Vintage Gold Ring ,REWARD!

I attended the Labyrinth of Jareth ball at the theatre and the preshow in the Blue Palms Lounge. At some point later in the evening, I lost the ring I was wearing. I'm not sure if it slipped off my hand while at the theatre or at some point after I left. I've left a description and phone number with the hotel. The ring is a small gold ring with rectangular silver insets on either side of the stone setting. The ring isn't worth much monetarily, but it was my grandmother's engagement ring and cannot be replaced.

I doubt that the ring will be found, but I'm hoping that someone may have found it and turned it in. I'm willing to pay a reward to anyone who finds/returns the ring to me. Its loss is deeply upsetting to me as it's the only inheritance I have from my grandmother.

If found, please, PLEASE contact me by email at surfingsalamander@sbcglobal.net.

Thank you,
Amy

I wish I'd bought extras to hand out to people who lost track of time until it was too late and none were left, or something like that... ah well, there's always next year to get more people to see the masquerade.

Greetings my noble friends, how do you fare?

Each year upon our second stage, high above Hollywood Blvd, the goblins setup a cozy little cove away from the glittered wings and pulsing lights to have their own jams under moonlight. Gypsy travelers wander far to find these rare drum circles and trade wares with the ancient gnoll and goblins whose artifacts rarely betray the magic they might have. . . (or could it be the goblins love trickery and wine even more than the gypsies??).

Is a small flute or lyre part of your costume? You're welcomed to join the circles while you're within our court.
Message me for more details and may your night be filled with creative enchantment.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This release is just for Tribe, changed up a little to give those who are linked to me some information on the LOJ Fantasy Masquerade before our next release. . . Feel free to pass this along, share it with your friends and glitter your wings. . . We're within that 30 day window before LOJ and the artists of Sypher are working their fingers to the bone to make certain we're ready to open the doors of the court. . .

For those who didn't know, this year's LOJ is a touch more ambitious for us than usual and the Sypher Crew has been jumping back and forth between San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles trying to keep up with our three creative teams.

Keep your eyes peeled, for this year, Desert Sin, Tresk and Sypher have planned several new acts, where we normally only do one. This year I've penned three stories for the stage and we're finishing compositions, sculpting new sets and creating choreography for entirely new pieces from these stories. I truly hope you'll enjoy them.

Advanced Bliss and Drop Black Sky have new Albums released this year LOJ, of which they'll be performing live music from and we have many new friends merging their talents with the Sypher Art Studios Alliance (Sylphirance) to perform both on our two little stages and one Main stage. The New Albums will be available at LOJ to purchase.

People have been sending in some amazing progress on costumes their costumes this year. . . I can't wait to see how some of our patrons build these amazing creations. . . if you'd like to show me what you're planning on wearing to LOJ, please do. . . it always brightens me to see what you're building for LOJ.

Speaking of our patrons, it's official, NO TICKETS will be available at the door. We've broke our ticket records this year and we're down to our last holdings of tickets. Make sure you and your friends have yours. . . As of July 4th, if you haven't purchased your tickets yet, (and we still have some available), you'll miss our shipping deadline, which means you'll have to pick yours up at will call.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What else. . . ahh, a small challenge I'll whisper to those who've payed attention.

Have you noticed any of the strange elvish runes we've placed upon props and such, in years past? Fragments of forgotten tales linger in their scripts.

Well, time burns, promising only to burn out. Enjoy the world around you, each little detail you perceive are the brushstrokes of creation.

There is a magic in this life to be cherished my friends. Keep your eyes bright and dreams brighter. -S Strider

One Last Batch

So, we're producing one last batch of flyers with this year's artwork, just to get us through the month as our supplies are ebbing low. . .

If anyone would like one, or two. . .or a few hundred to give out, just let me know. There won't be many of this edition printed, just a couple thousand.

This year, we're doing something a little different. The last flyer shall have slightly different styles of design on the back and be a little more artistic, something larger and prettier than the standard cards we do. We might as well just play with it, don't you think?

-Strider
(who is planning on using some new types of PH -/+ neu. recycled paper, hard pressed into a C2S sheet and thought he'd play with a new AQ coating as well that's supposed use almost no petrol in it's base and offers a better luster than traditional UV coats. . . )

Greetings my noble friends upon the LOJ Court Tribe. . . here I intend to offer slightly different glimpses into the event and the artists with Sypher's Core. Within the Court we'll talk about all the spin off activities and dreams that we pursue, gatherings that we've planned and some of the antics behind the curtain and beyond the Masquerade.
