Richy is an awesome up and coming oriental anf folkloric dance artist, choreographer and
teacher has an afternoon of fabulous workshops coming up on

Sunday, June 28,2009
Registration will be at 11:30 starting the first workshop at 12 noon
Starting with The Alexandrian character dance about the Banat Eskandaria
(Girls of Alexandrina):
The Melaya Luff
Learn a choreography to the exciting Shaabi song, El Hantour
Using Reda Folklore and Modern Cairo Styling to this fun and ghetto fabulous
dance, you will be able to use it endlessly as well as learning different
ways to wrap and handle the melaya's as well as different folkloric
gesture's to incorporate.

After an hour lunch break we will look at the Bedouin Dance of the Western
Desert Frontier of Egypt:
El Hagallah
A short choreography will be taught to a upbeat folk song
Using Reda and Komeya folklore as well as modern Cairo styling to this
earthy desert dance will add a new element of Egyptian dance into your
style, we will learn the different 3/4 shimmies and folk gestures used in
the dance

Melaya's WILL be available for purchase, please contact for more info!!
If you don't have a melaya or don't want to purchase one bring a big
shawl/scarf or veil
If you don't want that it is still possible to engage in the workshop :)
