saw this on Caring Bridge on Chris King's site....Kirk is a funny guy and great musician...kieep him in your thoughts
>>>Sorry --I forgot to mention that we received word that one of Chris' friends has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and is in Ben Taub Hospital. I know Chris would appreciate you offering up a prayer for Kirk Carr.
Though I don't know him personally, I have been told that Kirk may have had some hard times. I do know that we aren't all saints and though we may stumble--we still deserve a friend.<<<

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 10:08 AMMy Public, My Public, You're a Nation...of dreamers & fools, lovers & rules...
My Public Urination is just one of the fine, twisted & brilliant things I will miss...
Tonight I write to tell you of the passing of another of Houston's underrated geniuses, Kirk Carr.
Many knew his guitar work & songcrafting from bands like Pain Teens, or around the LCC, Pik N Pak, or any good dark place with loud music. Some folks know his off the cuff songwriting & others know songs like "Monkey Love." I loved it so much, we cut it at Loma Ranch years ago for "Play with Matches"
Kirk could make a trip to the grocery store seem like an occasion to be celebrated. I know his halo might not have been straight over his forehead at all times, but I know he kept it in his pocket for moments his friends and family needed him.
ELeesaE called to tell me the news a few minutes ago.
Here's to you, Kirk Guitar Carr.
Please dig a hole in the clouds of Heaven big enough for your friends down here.
I love you.
