I'm in and thankfully someone snagged an on-site camping space for me, but would be stoked to stay in a cabin if someone has extra room! ; )

Good work Samsa! Last year I had a great time camping, even though we were waaaaaay out there in the forest (well, also along the road), with the wookies, in the rain. On-site camping's gonna be a HUGE upgrade. : )

Sam can you make sure that we get clarification on the camping that is not onsite. My friend said onsite camping is sold out she bought hers yesterday and the people at the cabin said they are not allowed to camp out there anymore, but we dont know what that does to the rv's that were there. They said that the forest rangers will be ticketing and towing, no more capming on the fire paths

Words to the wise - With all the promised Johnnie Laws around, please be thoughtful and careful in your choice of transportation and drivers if you are residing away from the festival...

We plan on going. Since we will have our shy rescue dog Willow, we'll be camped out off-site in the giant traveling dog crate, hopefully close by on the NFS land.

I havent checked in with the officials yet but I am sure they will pop up here on this tribe to help with info.

I THINK, not sure, just THINK that people will be allowed to camp off site, I dont think theres any controlling that, I think they are just not advertising it freely on places like jambase.com and such so it doesnt become a free for all

but I am as confused as y ou guys are over this matter, I have been busy at home but will get in touch with the honchos and ask the question so I can post appropriate info on the webs, because I am hearing mixed things as well from diff. sources.

Thanks same because at this point cabins and onsite camping are sold out, so I dont want to buy my ticket if i cant camp offsite, since I wont be allowed onsite camping

                From the website:

On-Site Camping Still Available! We do have many other great options including Evergreen Lodge's amazing on-site camping. We've done all the research for you to find the best camping, RV parks, and house rentals in close proximity to the festival. With very limited on-site space and such an intimate atmosphere we also encourage cabin sharing to maximize your experience at Las Tortugas Dance of the Dead. Part of the festivities include cabin decorating and we've found in the past there's nothing like a good cabin party to keep the vibe alive.

Camping is still available and it's pretty awesome to camp in Yosemite. my first year i had the best night sleeping weather ever.

To echo Melissa's post, I just saw this on the Tortuga's fb page

on site camping still remains...and there are plenty of nearby offsite options...and we encourage you to share!

The problem with the off-site options is you have to take a shuttle that has a curfew, am I wrong?

There is a confusion with off site camping across the way. I think it is allowed, theyre just not advertising it all over jambase? Not sure.....Hafty?

And On Site Camping is STiLL AVAILABLE

Just to clarify, On-site camping is still available. Get it while you can. BUT the camping that was across the street in the past is no longer legit. The park rangers aren't into that anymore I guess? But shoot why camp across the street when you can camp on-site. I'll check in on shuttles, not 100% sure how that's working.

Have I mentioned I'm really excited? I can't even wait. Gonna go get a dose of Dumpstaphunk this weekend at The Fillmore!! Put it in the dumpsta!!

yeah but the problem is that you need to purchase a ticket for on-site camping, and what about people who dont need to purchase a ticket, where are we suppose to camp?
