So I was talking with a friend and posed this question: "If you had to choose only one character total from the Merry and Anita worlds combined and they could be yours alone forever, who would it be?"
Here is my answer: "Let's see: I adore JC and Asher and they would have to come as a pair. Nathanial is fun but too needy and Micah is too agreeable (I like these traits in the books, adds to the mix but I'm too impatient for them). I also love Jason but the pack mentality isn't my thing, plus, I'd run a higher risk of seeing Richard and Goddess knows I don't want that. Frost is beautiful but too moody. Galen is also yummy but too naive. Sholto has too much self loathing and Mistral likes sex rougher than I do. Hmmm... down to Rhys and Doyle... and the winner is... Doyle. Rhys is certainly light hearted and would be fun but it takes him a while to realize when it's time to be serious, plus his reasons for loving someone aren't always healthy. Doyle manages to incite a feeling of being protected without snuffing out the sense of independence and self reliance. He loves deeply, passionately and fiercely.... after so many years with David I'm a pro at living with someone who is very serious. :-)"

1. Which CHARACTER from each series would you choose and they could be yours, alone, forever.
From the Anita series I'm torn between Micha and JC. Micha because he is totally understanding yet, if need be, will stand up and fight to the death for a person/cause and he's sexy as hell! But he is way too short for me... I'd tower over him. That leaves JC... tall, elegant (though thinner than I usually care for in a man), pale with long black hair (great for running fingers through)immortal, powerful and he has fangs! Yes, yes... I have a bit of a biting fetish. Although his sexuality is questionable, he is loyal to the person he is in love with... and if that person reciprocates then there is always a way to reach a happy medium for both involved. So JC it is from the Anita series
From the Merry series.... oh my, so many yummy men! Frost is .. well, simply put... beautiful but comes with alot of baggage. Rhys is funny, tough and has a whole bunch of personality. Galen, while beautiful and sweet... he is just too weak for my taste. I could run down all of the other men but from this series I would certainly choose Doyle. YUM! Tall, muscular but in a thin way, looooong black hair, love to run my tongue along all the piercing in his ears, understanding yet unyielding Darkness, able to make decisions (and good ones) at a moment's notice. And due to his ancestory... there is always a risk of being 'bitten' when alone with him... and hearing a man growl while in bed woudl be... Just, perfect. *purr* ;) Doyle is just perfect.
Now, if I had to choose one man from either series it would have to be.......... Doyle. And this really kills me because I am, and have been since about the age of 5, a HUGE vampire fan. Unfortunately, JC is just not my 'dream vampire' no matter how good he looks in lace and velvet. Maybe its because I can see some of Doyle's strengths reflected in my hubbies personality.... but yeah, Doyle for sure. -

Nathaniel would be fun, great in bed and he's handy around the house but I'd get bored of being the 'top', I like my men to stand up to me occasionally. I can't even articulate how much I love Asher (named one of my cats after him) and I think he'd ultimately have a lot to give but helping him to get over his baggage would get tiresome. Jason would also be fun, and I like that he seems to be maturing now but that pack mentality isn't really my bag... not to mention that I detest Richard and he'd naturally be around. So, I too come down to JC and Micah... JC's hair would be amazing to play in and I'm so with you on the biting thing... back of the neck, inside of the elbow or the wrist... mmmm, but he is thinner than I normally like my men. Micah is understanding, accommodating and yet fiercely passionate and protective, but he is shorter than I typically like my men. Of the two though, I think I would choose Micah (named my other cat after him). JC can be a little manipulative, even with those he loves, and I don't like being manipulated.
Of course from the Merry series, and the two combined, it'd be Doyle for the reasons I already listed. Man, I love having a vivid imagination. ;-) -
