I'm waiting too! I'm strange I think in the way I read books. I'm always ready to go wherever the story has decided to take me so I don't think much about it I guess, heh odd. I think I throw myself in like I'm just watching someones life in an alternate universe! OK, I'm a dork

Nah, I do the same thing. I know people who look for grammatical errors and such while they read and I just get so involved in the story that I don't notice things like that. On one site I use to go to they actually called them a YAABI (yet another Anita Blake inconsistency), I never notice the stuff that gets pointed out. :-P

As for the Merry series, I want Doyle and Frost to be co-kings... and then I want to inherit the rest of her harem. ;-)

I have finly found the tribe for me. I just spent almost 3 hours looking for you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am sorry to say that I have not had a chance to read The Harlequin yet but as soon as I can get it I am all ready to go. My husband laughs because I talk of the caricters (I'm a bad speller and have not found the spell check on here yet sorry) as if they are real peple. As soon as I get one of her books I am unable to sleep untill I have read the entire thing. Then I re read it a month later cuse I have to revisit all of them.

Mmmm Lick of Frost dose that title just not give you wonderfull ideas or is it just me? I can not wait for that one to come either.

I love an underdog so I guess that is why the ones I love so much are Rhys, Barinthus, Kitto, and Nicca from Meredith. From Anita oh my Nathaniel of course, Jason, Micah and a few others that she is not sleeping with like the rat king. I just out and out love the way Laurell writes I get lost when I read her books.

In wrighting this I have desided to go back and re read all of Meredith agein.
Thank you agein for a great tribe.

      Welcome Lee Anne. :-)

Ooo, I think you'll really love The Harlequin. My husband gives me a hard time because I actually take the day a new LKH book comes out off of work so I can stay home and read it. :-)

Oh yes, Lick of Frost conjures up all kinds of delicious images for me... Mmmmm... I love Merry’s entire harem and I really, really want her leftovers. Hee hee hee...

Sigh... Nathaniel... God how I love him. I don't know about you but I detest Richard!!!! Whiney ass.

Oh, and BTW... unfortunately there is no spell check in Tribe so I usually copy and paste my stuff into an e-mail so something where I can check the spelling just because I'm AR like that. :-)

You know, I'm the opposite with reading it right away. I go and buy it right away, but then I never want to start reading it because that means it will be over sooner! I usually wait a few days. I agree with the detesting Richard part, the whole way through The Harlequin I was thinking o jesuse just get rid of his ass. Heh

Yes, but when it's over you can just start it over again a few days later. :-) This last time my mother in law was in town for a visit so I didn't get to read it the day it came out and then I caught a cold and read it when I was home wishing my head would just explode and get it over with. :-)

Yeah, a friend of mine won't read anymore of the Anita books (she only got up to the third or fourth one I think) because she hates Richard so much. She does say that it speaks to how well LKH writes though, to create a character that is so deveolped she can't abide reading about him even if she does enjoy the rest of the story. :-)

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I think Richard was created with her ex-husbands personality. If you look at the story line and see how they were so much in love (lust) at first but he tried to control her. His terrible jealousy of Jean Claude (her writing career). He tries to share her with Jean Claude but conflict keeps coming in. Then finally (if you have the reprints with the authors notes she tells you when the divorce happens) you see where she has pretty much given up on Richard but she try to make nice with him because of the tri thing (there daughter in my opinion) and they are forced to deal with each other because of it (her). All the new men and new things (her and Jean Claude with the risque bi-sexual experience) (mmm more of those please) is her spreading her wings after the divorce and trying to find herself.

Now that you all know that I have no life other than my books, and that I read way too much in to them. I will step away and see if any one agrees with me.
    ;)

That's actually really insightful. I usually miss the underlying motivations but I think you may be on to something. No wonder I loathe Richard... ass hat!!! :-) Oh and yes, more of the bi stuff thank you very much.

Thanks. :-) Ditto. There was another LKH forum I went to a few years ago and there was a very clear pro-Richard camp and anti-Richard camp. Same went for Micah. I have found that LKH fans either loved him or hated him, I've never found anyone who was just so-so on him. I want him for my very own. :-P

You can have him I want a night between Nathanal and Jason. There are not many men in the book that I just would totaly do with out (the gay british vamp I for got his name but yum). But yes every one has a favorite I think and most women go for the stronger men. I am guessing the whole caveman protecting thing. My only question is what is wrong with me than becuse I want the ones who need to be protected. I want to take them all home and keep them safe. (Hubby says bring them on.)

You mean Byron? Yeah, he's yummy for sure. I can only think of a few of the men that I wouldn't take a spin with... Richard being at the top of that list. I've come to realize that my taste in men falls at the extreme opposites... I like very masculine men like Jason, and I like really pretty men, like Micah, Nathaniel, Asher etc... Now that I think about it I suspect LKH likes the pretty ones since they dominate the Anita landscape. Hmmm...

You know if you asked me to describe a man in her books I dont do it by looks it is by atitude. Looks are nice to have but I prefer a man with a good heart and good morals. (this comming from the girl who looks like I was just scraped off the botom of hubbys simi tires) I realy dont care about looks becuse they are usaly superfical (or that has been my experiance).

Now that's not true at all... you should see my psycho sister in law... shudder!!!!

The personality can certainly affect how attractive I perceive someone to be. Their physical beauty/handsomeness can make my breath catch but if they open their mouth and utter only arrogant, bigoted, shallow tripe then I have no time for them, pretty or no. Conversely, someone who may be average in appearance can become lovely enough to still my heart because they are kind and have a remarkable sense of humor.

                  Funny how that works.

                    Isn't it thow.

Oh forgot to add Damion to my lists of faves. Goose bumps all over thinking of a man who can calm me with just a touch. I'd dig a basement by hand just to have him.

It's the best one in a while I think. I like them all, don't misunderstand, but this one has a ton of character development which I adore. I missed Asher though. :-(
