In their first books Ester and Jerry start channeling a being (or actually they say a group of beings) called Abraham. Abraham presents us with a set of tools they call Processes. As I stated in a recent post, I created this tribe with the specific idea in mind to discuss these tools and the tools set forth in Lynn Grabhorn's book. So here I am going to present the first of the 22 Processes, which is called the Rampage of Appreciation. I am going to quote the book mentioned in the subject line here, page 143, just the first paragraph or so, then let's discuss using this tool here.
"Begin by looking around your immediate environment and gently noticing something that pleases you. Try to hold your attention on this pleasing object as you consider how wonderful, beautiful, or useful it is. And as you focus upon it longer, your positive feeling about it will increase.
Now notice your improved feeling, and and be appreciative of the way you feel. Then, once your good feeling is noticeably stronger than when you began, look around your environment and choose another pleasing object for your positive attention."
This of course is just two paragraphs out of a whole chapter, but it is the gist of the exercise, so feel free to try it and if you can get a hold of the book, even if it is just at the Library, you can get an idea of where these games/tools/exercises can take us. I used to be the sort of person who was deeply depressed and these tools really helped me to learn that I DO have some control over what I am thinking and thus over what I am feeling. I truly never knew that up until just a few years ago! I'll explain more about me personally in another thread.

Thu, April 30, 2009 - 3:41 PM15-mins of meditation is another process Abraham offers. It's thinking about nothing; or wanting nothing; or wishing for anything; or not doing it for the intent of trying to make something happen.
Just 15-mins of meditation with eyes closed, nothing fancy you have to do, to release any resistance. It seems to be working when I listen only to the sounds around me, but, thoughts tend to creep in and then you have to remind yourself to let them flow through and think on nothing.
Excellent way to quiet the mind and be tapped-in, turned-on, and tuned-into, your 'Source Energy.' Remember, don't make it complicated with a lot of meditation techniques picked up along the way. Just breath for a few minutes and then relax with your eyes closed.

Thu, April 30, 2009 - 7:24 PMray vaughn, thanks for this. i've read many abraham books and own and watch just about every dvd, and must have missed that there is an actual list of 22 processes. i googled it (i keep giving away my ask and it is given books ;^) and found a link for a pdf of all of the 22, which might be helpful for people in keeping aware as they play with these processes.

i don't have the book you refer to because once i found abraham, i stopped reading abraham interpretations, since i love to learn from the source (so i do read seth, too), and there is so much material available, but i just now realized how silly that is of me not to read other people's work. heck, in my own coaching practice, i teach about the LOA in the context of job searches (integrated with other stuff of course) and if lynn grabhorn took abraham's principles and created ways for us to integrate them faster, that rocks.
so thanks, i'm going to take on working with my feelings of appreciation in this exercise.

It's amazing how I can actually forget to practice one of my favorite techniques, lol! Guess that's why we have friends and tribes to mirror them back to us.
