Sewing old dreads into short new hair?

<div>So, does anyone know where to look up a sample video of sewing old dreads into short new growth? I usually just braid my hair in and a friend of mine is wanting to put her old dreads back in and I haven't sew them in yet. I'm guessing it's not difficult just time consuming. My only ideal is to braid in the hair then take tread or plastic hair and sew into back and forth thru the dread and braid till it's fastened. I'm thinking a figure 8 kinda of action on the sewing? Let me know if you have any answer or suggestions, peace, love and hair weave......</div>

My locks won't lock!

<div>Yeah so, I hear I can ask hair questions on this tribe huh? I have a hair conundrum...oh and I can't spell either. Anyway, back in my younger years...you know like teenage and a little after, I had no problem curling my hair. All I would have to do is throw in some sponge rollers over night and BOOM curly curlies to last as long as I wanted until I washed my hair. So for the past few years, I've just been focusing on keeping my hair sleek and curled under. No fancy curls attempted in quite a while. So a couple months back I thought I'd curl my hair just for kicks. It won't curl! By now I've tried different methods, including all of the old ones I used to do back when my hair did what I told it to. I asked my hair stylest to curl it at my last visit. It took her four hours (and three different method attempts) before it finally curled! She ended up having to just take a peice of hair, drench it in mouse, curl with the curling iron, and hold and spray. It took forever! I don't understand why it's doing this. I've never bleached my hair, but I do die it black from time to time. I've never permed it. I've never really done anything different to it that I haven't done my whole life. Why do you think this is going on? And does anyone have any sure fire methods for some awesome curly locks? I don't want them permanently curly, I just want to be able to do the curly do every now and then. Thanks for reading this whole thing!</div>
