Neighborhood Council
The new board for the Empowerment Congress West Area Neighborhood Council is finaly seated. The first meeting of the new board will be held this coming Thursday. A copy of the agenda is attached. The board is seeking input as it restructures the council to better meet the priorities and needs of the community. The council is our pipeline to city hall. We need you! Please join the board in shaping the future of the council:

Expo-Line
The campaign to send the Expo-Line underground is ramping up. Look for signs on your neighbor's lawns along Exposition Blvd. The campaign is collecting signatures and will be hosting a community forum in October. It's not too late to have your say! Help us ensure MTA meets community standards that will limit the noise, traffic congestion and risk to school children. We need help collecting signatures this weekend at the African American Marketplace as well as the door-to-door canvasing in the weeks ahead. If you are willing to help collect signatures - use the attached petition form or reply to this email with your contact information. HPOZ
Have you signed and returned your HPOZ survey? We are hoping to collect at least 1,400 household surveys offering support for the Historical Preservation Overlay Zone designation for Leimert. A copy of the survey is attached or go to www.saveleimert.org for more information and a informational booklet.
