I wanted to create a place where people could talk about changing gender roles and expectations in personal relationships.
What do we expect from each other now that women can do "anything"? For example, who should pay on the first date? Is it unrealistic to expect men to be able to nurture while women bring home the bacon? Are gender roles obsolete? Is it sexism if I've done the vacuuming 3 times and my lover doesn't notice?
Feminism has created practical and philosophical implications for relationships. We've thrown away the maps and the road's not marked. Now what?
Please share your thoughts!

Re: What's this tribe all about?
Sun, July 17, 2005 - 10:57 AMIf'n I may, I'd like to share my biggest peeve of the post-feminist world... the toilet seat issue.
I've long argued that I have too much respect for women than to assume that the entire gender is helpless upon entering the WC. But somehow, no matter how empowered and intelligent the XX individual may be, I still get talked into playing that chivalrous little game.
I speak, of course, from my own experience only. But I feel that so long as this continues, we will never have an egalitarian society.
