Because I know it's possible to live sugar-free and live a SWEET life! We have a nation of children growing up can-feeding on sugar rather than being breast-fed their Mother's milk; it is a main ingredient in so many food products and many breakfast options, breads, pastries. in fact, it is difficult to avoid living an urban life and requires a vigilant eye to stay away from. it seems like an easy task to avoid sugar, but in the past i have found it to be quite difficult so i create this tribe to share sugar-free recipes, encourage one another to stay sugar-free and explore rationally the national pandemic that exists if that is interesting to people. The movie 'Super-size Me' highlighted the subject as it effects children's ability to concentrate and sit still in school. Personally, i just wish not to consume sugar for health reasons, but i also realize that there are broader implications and am open to discussion of ideas around that. There is a book called "Sugar Blues" that talks about the cost of sugar on the body, the drain; the adrenals, and consequently the mental and spiritual well-being of a person. i have not read it yet, but agree with the sentiment: consuming sugar is a costly personal and collective enterprise. i don't mean to be too intense about the subject, but more am hoping there are others committed to living a sweet life without the help of our granulated, powdery, white friend.
