Here are the five elements of the community we talked about last night, along with where we're at in the process.
* Education: currently under Amoration (www.amoration.org) and other schools, disconnected classes offered all over by our community
* Interactive Exhibits: Brave New Worlds needs lots of planning from exhibitors and visionaries
* Healthy Living: practicioners currently using spaces as available, no central hub (Living Paradise has a good plan for this)
* Original Productions: taking off under Toyshoppe, developing original works and a full-serve production team for all ventures
* Events: currently happening in spaces all over, organized on virtual hubs like Tribe and LABM list
We'd like to hear how you fit into these five -- pick one and tell us where you're working now and where you would like to take this element.
In the next weeks we are figuring out how to make the most of the resources in front of us to make this happen. To show our strength we need to focus in on what we can create together NOW before new opportunities materialize.
Where do you see the best opportunities to show what our community can do together?

Re: Focus for getting started
Sat, January 21, 2006 - 6:03 PMBlessed diva of diva-evolution,
I am profoundly excited about the prospects of coming together with lighthouse in some way.
Here's what I am planning for the near future and I am willing to adapt my plans if they can be somehow mutually beneficial.
First of all, I am at a critical point in my path of self realization. To further this, the universe has "thrust" me into the arena of performance, service, and play. There is a need for me to manifest the fullness of my life's purpose utilizing a myriad of skills, abilities, and talents with which I have been blessed.
I may need assistance in determining which area to be included under, but I tend to synthesize goals and tasks and make them all work together.
Is this possible for you?
For example,
I think I would like to do an Educational, Healthy Living class that rehearses toward an Original Production... or perhaps even do the class as a tv show.
All of this is working toward a final Performance Event, which can be a re-occuring, and interactive show piece/performance for future events.
Here is a brief breakdown-
My immediate objective involves three levels of focus and attention to be multi-tasked simultaneously and all interconnected:
#1.
The procurement of funding to begin construction of the "Chakra Wishing Tree."
I will also need access to or the use of welding, and other metal working tools for fabrication of the tree. Location of building site may be my home or at a studio, that is optional. Basically, it may be convenenient to build it as close to the location of the tools.
#2.
To begin a simple path to enlightenment by offering classes and workshops in a re-evolutionary new form of healing and well being that I call "Chakra Tree Yoga."
"Chakra Tree Yoga" is designed to clear, heal, awaken and activate all chakras in every session. This allows for more immediate results of health, happiness, and fulfilment of our life's purpose.
It is a multi-cultural synthesis of techniques, and meditation practices from Yoga, Kung Fu, Chi Gung, Shamanic Ritual, and Ceremonial Dance.
THis will also be part of the ceremony and performance at the Joshua Tree Festival.
#3.
To continue with my acting and performing career and assist you and others here in the collaborative effort of collective awakening.
That's all.
My resources are limited at the moment, but I have will, desire, skills, and the energy to help you make anything happen.
Please let me know if I'm on the right track.
Also, on the GIAMIND philosophy, i.e. "the whole being greater than the sum of its parts,"
I was considering posting two discussion topics.
The idea being that if maybe no ONE of us can put the whole picture together, maybe if we had a discussion thread on
a. our skills, talents, and resources.
and
b. our needs, wants, and dreams.
Then if we all add our 2 cents worth and peruse the info, we could "mo betta" put the whole picture together of where we can go from here.
Am I close?

Mon, January 23, 2006 - 11:12 AMGo for it Elonifer, integrate it baby!
Our goal right now is to take stock of our human resources and what we can bring to the table so we can get an accurate assessment of demand, supply and what's needed to move forward.
The space we're working toward will have room to manifest all of these visions and many more and it's helpful to hear how ANYONE would want to use this space.
Ran into quite a few of you at Spundae on Saturday and I kept imagining how we could do far more with 40,000 sq. ft than that venue has to offer. The one piece I kept dreaming of is a COMMON BEAT. Multiple rooms and DJs are great but there's nothing connecting it, and the lighthouse needs a central hub and common beat to bring together such divergent ideas and people.

Re: Focus for getting started
Wed, January 25, 2006 - 10:59 AMHmmmmmm.... I missed Spundae, but I had a phenominal time at Dr. Susan blocks Eros day Celebration. I went with Miriam and we ran into Xanadu there as well.
ANyhow... the COMMON BEAT... would require:
1.
a central room or hall connecting the other rooms for participants to experience the effect.
2.
participation by the seperate dj's/ performers by getting them "wired" to each other so they can hear each other, and a single "root" performer that all can hear and respond to and offer a "call and response" type affect.
3.
Would need cooperation by all to be WILLING to flow with the others.... this is not always even desirable, but could be fun for say.... a single period of musical exploration set at a predetermined time.
Sooo, the simplest solution, from my musical experience, would be to arrainge the dj's so they are presented as a single unified "orchestra"
i.e.
the bass beat dj in a central location so all can hear him, djs and dancers.
The trance on one end , the psych on another, and break beat on another, etc.
All would do their own thing, but have a common base beat.
This may be exciting for the dj's or too challenging depending on skill, interest in working with others, and music integration talent.
Just playing with the idea....
