Hey, back reading all these great posts - and someone mentioned "Club Limerence."
I think we're ALL a bunch of great people...(yeah, goin' through whatever 'stuff')...but the thought hit me...
Wouldn't it be kind of *fun* to organize an annual, informal get-together somewhere cool? Actually MEETING all the people in our Tribe?
Just a thought.
I would think it would be somewhat cathartic...actually meeting everyone...exchanging stories...getting/giving advice...sharing/bonding...a seance for Dorothy Tennov (*Sorry...sorry...flippant, disparaging, BAD joke*...) >-o
(I have a 30-year history of organizing annual weekend camping parties/star parties to watch the Perseid meteor shower every August out here in California - so, that's my 'bent.')
Hope it's not 'too bent.'

many are already hiding behind the internet and fake names......
look at all the freedom the internet and the tribe creates...to be whoever...but hide..also
would be a great idea...but people might say they would show...and then..bail....
not to be sarcastic....but at least an open forum first, with real names addresses pictures...first...would be a start...and instill belief
that a public meeting in person, would even be plausible.
somewhere cool....?? i suggest......
truth or consequences, new mexico.... it is a beautiful desert place
desert = how our life feels without LO - barren beauty
city name = the reality of it all
new mexico = not a chance many will find out....our hidden anxiety...
fun thought.....just having the thought matches the psyche of the tribe...

Fri, July 18, 2008 - 3:56 PMFascinating idea. I've often wondered about meeting others from the tribe and talking about limerence with them. But it's true, limerence is bound up with all sorts of other issues - let me name just two: (1) what about the SOs (significant others) - how would they feel about us convening (reminds me of Laurel and Hardy trying to get away from their wives to attend the Sons of the Desert convention!), (2) do we ever develop limerence for each other within the tribe - we share so much pain that I sometimes wonder whether the tribe is itself a breeding ground for mutual limerence. If so, what could happen during a weekend away, when we suddenly meet all these people that we've grown to 'know' in the tribe?
I think it's a great idea, but not one to be considered lightly. -

If everything could be worked out, I'd be interested. I know some people might not want to come, but... I don't know, all the limerents have to take some kind of first step to gather/organize, right? I feel like we should do something for ourselves/our kind, lol. Maybe I'm just crazy right now...

Sat, July 19, 2008 - 6:49 PMI think Viktor is right,that would be feasible if we have an open forum about all of us. Then after that we could plan where and when this convention would be. I mentioned this before in one post. It think we need reorganized our tribe into a more formal/official site. To let the world know that limerence exist.
Any suggestion ?
