Line by Line Poetrymoderated - created 04/07/06 |

Line by line poetry is the limitless and intriguing method of writing poetry as a collective, based on the Surrealist method of exquisite corpse. Surprisingly, this works in a way that is strange and wonderful. The resulting poems often seem almost magical in their serendipitous fusion. It is a fabulous experiment!
How this works:
Members write one or more original lines of poetry per round. They send the line(s) via private message to the moderator. The mod then puts those random, anonymous lines together to make a whole poem. Then, the results of the round are posted here for everyone to see and share. There may at times be a theme chosen by the mod. Also, the mod may choose to use a little creative editing in the process, such as for the sake of aesthetic unity. Usually, though, the lines are put together as they are written, in the order they arrive.
Theme suggestions and guest moderators are always welcome.
It's that simple and that complex. And it's great fun to see what comes of many people each writing poetry without the knowledge of what is going on with anyone else in the group.
Join and participate and be prepared for what may come...
