Chariots Rise - Movie Version?

Hi Everyone -

My finance and I going to be getting married in May and the song we have chosen for our first dance is Chariots Rise from the Secretary movie. We would much prefer to play the version of the song from the movie as the lyrics, and the meaning behind them, so closely mirror what we feel. Is there a way to get a copy of the movie version of the song? Naturally we would be happy to pay for it as a download, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

This will culminate with the Bluebird Music & Arts Festival in November of this year, and will feature numerous bands both locally and nationally renowned, all with Midwestern roots. Tonight's benefit will feature several local acts kicking off the fundraising for Columbia's newest festival. Featuring Casey Reeves, Seth Ashley (formerly of Ellie Come Home), Celandine, Joe Stickley's Blueprint and special guest appearances by Lizzie West, Baba Buffalo and friends...just in from the Holy Road.

Lizzie West and Baba Buffalo are back in Columbia for their Midwest summer residency. Fresh from their spring tour, Lizzie and Baba will be performing the Tumbleweed Cabaret at Mojos, June 16th. The artists have spent the last year touring nationally as Artists-In-Residence while creating the Tumbleweed Cabaret and their non-profit, Holy Road Tours. Their music has most recently been featured several times on "The L word" and "Democracy Now".

On June 16th, the artists will be celebrating the release of their new single, "River Of The Big Canoe" in memory of Mid-Missouri folk legend Bob Dyer (recorded at The Holy Road House, Columbia, MO). The single also features Lizzie and Baba's local collective band, The Hucksters (with local artists Bart Bean, Mike Robertson, Pam Fleenor, and James Mccown). All profits from this online single will be shared between these lifestyle sustainability collectives: HOLY ROAD TOURS, MORIVCC and THE BIG CANOE.
The show will also celebrate the launching of our new online magazine and report, The Holy Road Journal, for those who wish to celebrate Now.

Lizzie and Baba in Westport, KCMO

For those of you who haven't been fortunate enough to attend a performance by Lizzie West and the White Buffalo, I highly recommend you do as soon as you can. What time is it? NOW! It is an inspirational and fun event. Her music is soulful and heartfelt and its messages affect and infect the soul. I can't rave enough about them. I felt like a child in a candy shop the whole evening and it has stayed with my inner-self. They are as sweet and down-to-Earth as any two people can be and their show leaves you thinking and dreaming of the night. I was fortunate enough to be the recipient of a yellow ribbon from Lizzie and it is NOW wrapped around my bedroom lamp as a continued reminder and inspiration of how we can and should make this world a place for all to be happy and aspire to something positive and to make others feel the positive energy we radiate. That is the only way we will ever overcome the negative energy of those who seek and abuse power. Crazy as it may sound, I now feel a connection to Lizzie and Baba ever since that night and that feeling is foreign to me, a first for me in this manner. Knowing that they are out there and inspiring others to reach beyond the mundane and typical aspirations of this society we live in provides me inner peace and inspires me to do the same. If that is crazy, then I don't care to be sane.

Howloween ball this saturday, howlin' wow!

Just a reminder that the "Create Your Reality" Howloween Ball is THIS Saturday. Outside the Tiger Hotel at about 7pm, Sphyre of Prometheus will start spinning fire. 7:30-8:30 pm the doors are open and you will enter the Tiger Hotel Ballroom via the Now clock...to a group of musicians, a novella in progress, and other performers....

The Ball is a benefit for The Agency and Holy Road Tours.
The Agency has been established to create a way for artists, entrepeneurs, community members and local business people to work together to promote a vibrant cultural environment to cultivate a fearless citizenship striving to make our world a richer, more beautiful place to live. We are a new organization and have recently applied for our non-profit, 501(c)(3) status. Lizzie West:
After picking up the guitar at 23, I taught myself to sing through my soul. I took to the holy road and spent the last nine years researching how things seem to work on earth. After growing through The Machine, fighting censorship, and losing both my parents to Cancer, in a sudden two years, I’m still learning how to alter reality and live in the now...I'm just now beginning to understand what the songs are trying to say to me, codes for the journey Home. The Dharma Dog gave me his eye, Mama gave me herself and the clouds. The manifestor, Laura, wouldn't give up, and I found my Baba Buffalo (Anthony Kieraldo) at the cafe in front of a tennis ball lemon tree. That's when I watched another kind of White Buffalo be born, the kind that has people for legs, dreams for a brain, music for a heart and the movement shaking through it when it wakes. I hope you'll travel with us as we grow on the holy road and with Holy Road Tours. My life has been about this for nine years now... There is also a Kevin's World section there with all sorts of gear like journals, cloth tote bags, beer steins, etc.

Honestly, there's not a whole lot of merch there at the moment, and I have reservations about Cafe Press's quality. I would imagine that if you are in or around Columbia, it would be more beneficial to buy directly from them. They have a table of merchandise set up at the Holy Road House that includes CDS and stuff.

If anyone has any questions about purchasing from Holy Road House, let us know!

Lizzie's version of this song, live at Mojo's on the 30th of June, along with the announcement that she'd bought a house in Columbia was captured on video. When she got off the stage and danced with the audience, though, the video dances too.

think I know what's coming next....The Source reminds me that I am NOT The
Great Author of this Mystery Life, this page turning journey, this wonderful
trip Home. Details and directions provided when I remember to check the

Two days before we were headed to Webster New Hampshire, some important
(but personal) issues caused us to make a sudden change and move our
New Hampshire residency to this beautiful 60 acre retreat here in Upstate New
York.

If you live in the New Hampshire/Mass area and you were planning on
being at The Healing Barn Show, Workshops or The Healing Weekend, I'm really
sorry we can't make it. I send you hugs and howling from afar.

No matter where you are, everyone's invited upstate for a Holy Road
Tours experience...we'd love to see you at one of our August events.
