Etiquette and protocol are thought by many to be the foundation of a strong power exchange dynamic. Certainly these concepts are some of the most talked about (and in some cases, most confusing) topics in the BDSM community. In this class we will attempt to depart from the "one true wayism" that often plagues discussions of protocol and etiquette and explore the practical purposes behind their theory and use. This class aims to assist attendees in finding a system of etiquette and protocol that works for them, and to give guidance in how to navigate interactions with others in protocol intensive settings.
You do not need to be a part of a D/s grouping to attend this class! Please dress comfortably and be prepared for a little light movement.
Topics to be covered include:
~ An introduction to etiquette and protocol and the differences between them
~ Etiquette and protocol made easy!
~ How to develop your own system of etiquette and protocol that works for you to enhance your power exchange dynamic
~ Why these concepts are valuable in private power exchange dynamics and in the BDSM community at large
~ Navigating etiquette and protocol interactions within the BDSM community
~ Making it hot! Understanding the erotic side to etiquette and protocol
Presenter bio:
Bethie Hope O identifies as a service-oriented slave, adult little girl and pain pig! She has been blessed to be owned by Daddy Darin for the past 3 years. Bethie believes in creating supportive communities and is active in both the BDSM and age play communities. Among her many volunteer activities, she is serving her second term as an officer in the Society of Janus. Bethie is the creator and co-host of Locked, a quarterly formal protocol play event at SF Citadel. This year she is honored to be part of the organizing committee for Leather Traditions' Weekend for Doms. She is also a trained tea server with the Northern California Ladies' Tea and Discussion Society.
In her free time, bethie enjoys studying Victorian and Japanese history and society, and has a passion for all things tea related. Bethie lives in the East Bay with her Daddy, four dogs, six goats, 2 turtles and an obscene quantity of stuffed animals. Her favorite crayon is cornflower blue, unsharpened.
