What, in your opinion, makes a person a Master?
Is it dependant on vocation? It can be reasonably argued that a person can be considered to be a master of woodworking for example, or ballet, just as it can be argued that a Top can also be a Master. But what about non conventional ideas of mastery? Is it possible to argue that one can be say, a master fry cook? What about a master bottom or slave? Can anyone be a master?
In your opinion, what are the qualities that make a person a Master? What must one do in order to become a Master?

Re: What is Mastery?
Mon, January 5, 2009 - 12:48 PMYou must be at the top of your game, whatever it is. Educated, whether self-educated or educated by another master. An expert. One who teaches others in the same field so that they can rise to higher achievement--as a M/master is only as good as his/her pupils. I believe a "master" who neglects teaching or mentoring others is no master.
