I have several audio tracks from close miking a drum kit. Lots of bleed between instruments. I want to clean them up - i.e., in the overhead track, clean out all the hi hat, snare, etc. so all this track has is the cymbal and occasional tom hits. I strip silence the audio file (after creating a backup), delete all the regions I don't want, and I think I'm there. But the actual comp still contains all the audio info I thought I deleted.
When I try to copy the regions to a new track it doesn't work either. What am I doing wrong? Is there a easier way to clean up these kinds of things?
Thanks.
Tim

Re: Cleaning up drum tracks
Tue, December 25, 2007 - 3:49 PMi'm assuming you've flatted the comp before 'strip silence'?
also, why not just throw a 'gate' on an insert?
hope that helps...
