So - In logic 7 I had this working - the EW Boesndorfer 290. It has been so long since I did that install, I forget if I had to do anything particular. I seem to remember it running in a native instruments (kompakt?) shell or something of that nature. So, I did the install from disc, filled out all the reg forms and serials... and I can't seem to get logic to find it. The manual has instructions for other importing of instruments, but nothing about this. Any suggestions? It must be simple, but I'm totally at a loss at the moment.

I guess the kompakt player is not working on intel is one problem.

Yep, all those EastWest libraries are (at least were) once upon a time Kompakt instruments, meaning they each had there own AU which would launch the Kompakt version of the library. I believe EastWest has changed to a new format (no more kompakt) recently and you should be able to download that for free (or no cost) from their site.
Otherwise, you can open those libraries in Kontakt if you own that application. Kontakt 2 and up seem to work fine in Logic, except that I know there were problems with multi-out instances of version 2.

Nope. The official answer from EW tech support was that I would have to "crossgrade" to NI's Kontakt player for $279 which is about the same price I paid for the piano to begin with. This would end up making this single sample nearly six hundred dollars.
I think it's totally unethical of both EW and NI to basically abandon a user of a specialty sample like that.
Very unimpressed with both of them. This is why people end up using kracks instead of buying legit versions.
In the future, I won't buy anything unless it's exs24. I even have Sample Cell II libraries from over a decade ago that still work.
Anyway to convert NI to exs24 that I'm not aware of?

Does Logic Convert from gigastudio? I am thinking of trying to get EW to swap out my version so that I could import it into logic.

So www.sampletekk.com/ has the PMI in logic format for $50 as well as a TON of other well priced libraries. The Emperor seems very nice as well. (White sounds nice as well.) That said... I also stumbled uplon the much more expensive Synthology which sounded great and is worth checking out if someone googles this thread looking for thoughts.
