just wanted to make sure, those who'd want to know that would have otherwise missed it in my blog, that I'm hosting a House Warming party this Friday, 19th. If you've talked to me recently, I'm sure you know how much I've been talking about it's craziness, so come see for yourselves. If you want to crash, bring something to sleep in. There will be drinks, but more is always appreciated. Fire spinning will happen in the backyard. Parking might be tight, so carpooling is recommended.

It is in PAL, so unless you check your DVD player (if you're american) it probably won't work on your NTSC equipment. It WILL work on ANY computer however.

Buying it direct is best, but other real and online stores you might know and trust will be carrying it soon.

It's got amazing inspiration sequences on it, that even I go back and watch again... they make me think i have to go out and practise more... It's got spinning tutorials, contact tutorials and doubles tutorials, all starting from absolute beginner. And they're the most well made tutorials I could make.

I have explained it as well as I possibly can in this DVD, especially the contact moves cos I loves them. The tutorials are at least ten times better than anything on this site, even the really good ones I made.

Featuring slow motion, freeze frame and multiple angles, not just for coolness value, but concocted to show you in the most obvious way how the moves work and YOU have to move to make them work.

I didn't really like having a PayPal donate button on this site, cos it felt so cheesey, nor have I given in to Google AdWords, so if you maybe liked my free tutorials, learnt a lot and wanted to give something back, you could consider purchasing the DVD... And you get something for your money as well!

Alternatively, you can wait for the Intermediate/Advanced DVD's that I'm in the process of making, about Doubles and Contact exclusively. They're going to be my masterpieces, at least, that's my dream. The final say on Contact... and as for Doubles, covering a huge previously uncovered area, but doubles moves so fast... it's not exactly going to be the final say... :D Can't wait for them to be finished... :D

Anyway I'll be shooting a movie in Hopedale, MA, most likely for 5 days (could be shorter, but won't be longer) so I need a place to stay tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday ... is there anyone who can help, I have my Aunt in Arlington, but it's an hour away and with traffic may take even longer and I'm just trying to conserve gas since I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee that gets 12 miles to the gallon :-0

Ok, I don't know if i just missed it, if it's about to happen, or if its occurring at this VERY MOMENT, but I DO know that sometime around nowish is one of the most important days of the year, the day LOKI was squirted out...the first baby ever born with a mohawk, spinning fallopian poi that he sewed jingle bells onto while int he womb...yes, his mom ate jingle bells.

ANYWAY

Years passed

Life happened

Then I had the distinct privilege of being one of the few and many whose life was touched by this deep and special person. At first we became friends through third party association...Loki was a tall tale to me...like Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, or Calamity Jane..ok, trouble's Calamity Jane, but more on that later. In Dave's eyes, Loki was larger than life. I heard so much about him, I knew him before I ever met him. I thought it all a great exaggeration until i met him, and he lit up my life:) And he really does ride cyclones and has a big blue ox...named dreamy dream. He has been through a lot, but still held a heart of gold, and through anything, even the hard times, brought nothing but warmth and smiles to my life. Eventually we became much more than just friends of friends, I feel like I could turn to Loki with anything, and he'd help me through it. I know he's always be there for me...as he would for anyone close to him in his life...he understands what it means to be hurt and to hurt, and to love and be loved, and understands the importance of someone to talk to, and someone to listen. He would never dismiss anyone's problems or feelings, as long as they are not the type to dismiss his....and even then.

And Trouble...little miss...dont think you're getting out of this. I know its not your birthday, but I must say, for someone I barely knew and have rarely talked to, I feel the same way. Your sly smile and light heart have kept my spirits up on many occasion, and even when I barely knew you, you were there to talk to me and love my flushitypushity monsta dog, and really be a friend. You are so extremely special to me...you were there when I felt like I had no one...both of you were. And I know you always will be, as I will for you.

Sorry for bringin on the sappy, I just want to make sure, on this momentous occasion, that Loki and his partner in crime get the proper Lovin and extreme appreciations and joy they deserve for their mere existence in this world. Keep on bringin the noise, you little fire starters, and dont ever change:)

I love you Loki and I love you Trouble, and I miss you (and all you other east coasties) TERRIBLY! Happy BIRTHDAY Loki, I wish i was there to celebrate with you! Ill be sure to down some whiskey, smoke some hand rolled cigarettes and other goodies, and laugh until 5am for you:)

I have found that I write the way I talk and because of that I get misread lots and people take me the wrong way. If you're looking for malice or for me to be inciting anything by doing this you've got the wrong idea. That said here goes.......

I'd like to say I am sorry to the community in general.....
It seems that things that have transpired as of late have caused a lot of hurt to people and I feel real bad about that. Things spiraled way out of control and I'd like to apologize for my part in that. I take full responsibility for my actions and understand how said actions have hurt people not involved in the situation. I think we both acted wrongly and I'm trying to rectify my part in that, to grow and to become a better person. I have apologized privately to the other person involved in this and will not speak any more publicly about that, this is for the rest of you. If I hurt you in any way I am sorry, if I have offended you I am sorry, if you're just plain sick of me I am sorry. My actions are my own and if it seemed I reacted over emotionally or irrationally its because of dealing with three deaths in a week and then this whole situation. I'm not trying to justify my behavior just letting you all know a little of the behind the scene stuff thats helped to be a cause of my behavior. I reacted poorly and it has effected many people, I feel like I've lost a great deal in this and hope that folks will forgive me. By doing this I am not looking for pity or to play the victim, I am sincerely trying to make amends with whomever may feel I've wronged them or has taken any of this to heart.

The Battle of Thought

So I just spent like the last hour writing a question to post on here. Well, being so long it turned into one hell of a story and alas, it's now a blog. So check it out and read it if you're so inclined (You could say it's written in like the style of Plato, dragging everything out to make one point or ask one question). But to address the underlying theme of the story, and the question I so originally proposed [in myblog]: When it comes to performing in public, usually not with fire, and more on the side of just practicing, like your everyday routine, do you contemplate like "Hey should I do this right here or not? Would I be too out of place? Maybe somewhere more isolated? Cetera Dot dot dot"

I could say that's more a thing of the past for me (as probably for most of you too), but it still happens, sometimes ever only for a second or two. So what's everyone elses point of view (personal experiences) on this uncomfortable contemplation?

Breaking News: Tankboy takes superbowl rage out on local asians

Oakland, CA- An old crazy asian man with Albert Einstein Hair, and his son, Hawk (that british asian kid from so you think you can dance with the long hair and ghetto style) were on their way home at 2:30 pm PST to watch the superbowl together, when a giant UHAUL truck smashes their car into pieces.

The driver of that truck, David aka Tank, claims that he was pulling out of the gas station and turning left across a lane of traffic stopped at a red light, when the light suddenly turned green, and he had to turn abruptly to the left to avoid the demand of the rushing oncoming cars. This is oakland....YOU get out of the way. Upon making this sharp left turn, Dave failed to notice the asian-filled '98 toyota corolla to his left, which he proceeds to introduce to the driver's side of his truck.

While the truck suffered minor scratches, the Toyota corolla now only has half a front bumper, one headlight, a dented hood, and a possibly damaged front side panel. Luckily for Dave, it wasn't HIS UHAUL truck...it was his friend Ian's, who was happily prancing around at dance class at the time of the incident. Fortunately, the insurance Ian purchased for the UHAUL more than likely only covers him, and not other drivers, so we are currently up the creek without a boat, so to speak.

Bent Staff

So I've been contemplating the past week that my staff might be bent, and while practicing at a dance studio it was on the ground and I saw it roll. It does have a slight bend to it, nothing too drastic but still. I know aluminum gets weaker and weaker the more you bend it (this is one I bought from Chad which I have to thank for an amazing staff A++), so I was guessing and tried to bend it back a little, then stopped thinking I should ask on here first. If I roll it to the side that is higher in the middle, should I push down a little and keep doing so until it's somewhat level again or what (that's what I was doing, but didn't do it much)? It's still perfectly usable, I'm just a perfectionist like probably most of us and like my equipment to be in tip top shape. Any suggestions, or should I leave it as is (and just eventually buy/make a new one). Thanks!

1) OPTION 1 - COMMONWEALTH CARE

As you've probably heard, Massachusetts now has a new program from Commonwealth Care. It's a health care plan for folks with low wages and happen to be residents of Mass. Check it out at

2) OPTION 2 - NASE

Another option (which is available in all 50 states) is the National Association of the Self Employed (NASE). See

Prices of both Commonwealth Care and NASE vary widely, and you can customize your plans. So call them and get some info.

Skiing up @ Sunday River

So I'm going up to Sunday River next week, and I have my place up at the Grand Jordan (Sleeps 6 easily, but can fit in more). Few friends and I are already going, but I'm throwing it out there if you wanna come up! It's college week Mon-Fri so it's only $35 a lift ticket (valid college ID of coarse). I'm thinking of going Weds-Fri, 9th-11th.

I'm at Sunday River right now for the weekend, and spun in front of the pool last night. It's great cause the crowd can chill in the heated pool and hot tub while watching ya spin fire over the snow.

These are also the events for College week at Sunday River those two days we might go:

Wednesday January 9th

On the rooms, I actually have two available. They're timeshares, ones ours, and the others our best friends, but we can rent it out no prob. Only thing we have to pay is housekeeping (our room is usually $350 a night otherwise).
2 BR, 2 Bath, Kitchen, Living Room w/ pullout, Porch: 1st Night, $59, each one after $21, so for 3 nights $101
1 BR, 1 Bath, Kitchen, Living Room w/ pullout, Porch: 1st Night, $52, each one after $19, so for 3 nights $90

So I'm getting our own room, the two bedroom. If anyone wants to get the 2nd one, it's available too, or can tag along with us.

questions about [chinese] meteor

I've become really intrigued by it this week and having set down the pair that I made (used three tie dyed socks, came out absolutely great). Seems like a little on homeofpoi.com but that's about it. Anything like domorepoi.com style (unlikely I know). I've basically been figuring it out myself and kinda got the rotor down, just hard to keep smooth. It's all about positioning the hand just right. sooo, a space opened up in the vulcan (the warehouse where noel-ski, greg maldonado(did i spell that right? sorry greg:P), and a wealth of other object manipulators and jugglers and artists and musicians reside), and dave and i pounced on it! we're moving in january 1st. its over 2000 square feet of poi/staff/hoop/everything spinning fun, with 3 bedrooms. dave and i in one, our friend ro, who sme of you may know, who's a fire performer big in the bay area, and one other person, who we think is gonna be this chick who's one of the best hoopers in the country. RAD!!!

I want to say that most of the people in this tribe, i have considered family, at one point or another, been closer to some than others, and completely honestly, despite all the drama, and fallings out i have had, i still consider you guys family.

family doesnt always agree, they dont always get along, sometimes whole sides of families stop talking to each other. usually over petty squabbles....

i want to apoligize first and foremost to anyone whom i have hurt or made uncomfortable, i offer my best regards to everyone who is going places and doing things....

but with all this, each member of a family has their own personality, and they have to stay true to that, regardless of the implications of the greater family.

its interesting how much of this community has had squables with itself, many people have fallen out with some of their close friends....

I just want to put it out there, that there are things worth more than disagreements and fights, and if i have done anyone wrong, i do want to right it,

we only live once, and i would much rather exist as smiles in people hearts and minds than an awkward silence, or frown.

Its like if Wal-mart said they "moderate" thier movies and CDs. They force artists to change or take specific things out of the product or else they wont sell them.

So that said, the WF tribe does get censored regularly and I see nothing wrong with the title of this tribe or with the fact that we can speak freely here.

But dates are getting scarce on my end, so I need to claim one now. The best date for me is two weeks after. That's October 6th, since someone mentioned there's a drum and dance on the 5th. Wildfire T-Shirts: General Thread

As of recently, more and more people have been talking about how we need to have WF T-Shirts.
So far there are the two Chad shirts (OBEY and Chad is my Hombre), Fire Spinner Pickup Lines, and You Are Fuel.

Which of these do people like the most? Do you think we should have 1 design per Wildfire (ie OBEY WF Fall 07, You Are Fuel WF Spring 08, etc), or should have all four available each time?

Should the shirts be sold at cost, or be a little more to help WF break even? Should all the T-Shirts be pre-order? Should we ask Chad to have them available at ticket purchase? (With the month + sellout, there won't be problems with late orders, I think)

Share your feelings and design ideas. I want to push this to actually happen this fall!

if so, lets start thinking about construction. hmm a few things to discuss, but lets start with the basics

1. SCALE
i know the thing is giant, but really, how large is actually doable ? i am thinking about 4 feet ? what do you guys think ?

2. MATERIALS
it should be still recognizable as a head. any ideas for materials ? something like plywood or fiberboard would probably work well for the actual construction, i know plywood should NOT be burned because of all the glue in it, not sure about other stuff of that type. is anyone familiar with it?

Does anyone actually know how giant Chad's head is? I think we need to find out. Perhaps one Wednesday we could find out. See if he doesn't want his head measured, then it's not a problem. There are enough people at his class to hold him down should he resist. I don't think he would though. In fact, I think he might actually be curious to find out how big his head is. What separates really big from giant, gargantuous, or too big for words?
