Next Sunday Hoop Club at Jacksons Lane:
** Sunday 1 June **
That's this weekend!

Hoop Club is 2-4pm - two hours to whoop it up with your hoop. Admission is £5 (concessions £3.50) which includes use of hoops and music system (you can bring your own hoop(s) - and music to share if you wish). No formal teaching but hoopers are friendly folk and you can always ask someone to show you a move! A community event, this is your chance to meet other hoopers and play in a space with a vaulted ceiling and a fully sprung floor.

<--- Please remember to bring clean shoes as the management are very protective about the floor... --->

All the details can be found on my website (www.hoopswhirled.com).
Hope to see you there!

What a fun afternoon! Enough people to cover the hire costs (woo hoo) and new hoop friends, including Steve, who is an amazing hooper and all those who arrived as beginners but left with some hoop skills! Hopefully Alan will share video clips, as I only took photos, which will be posted soon. A big thank you to everyone who turned up to share the Sunday hoop vibe.

Next hoop club is on 6th July, which falls uncomfortably close to the hoop meet taking place on 5th July in Nuneaton, but is still manageable for those intrepid hoopers who will traverse vast distances to hoop. Speaking of whom, the extra special surprise of the day was a visit from Sue, who travelled down from the Northampton area to experience the delights of Jacksons Lane for herself. I'm amazed and delighted.
Thanks Sue - it was lovely to meet you in real life!

Oh yeah, it was great Diana !! And the vids are ok, I can get a nice 3 minute footage compilation from them, edit them tomorrow now.

Steve was brilliant, he told me he was uk hooping champion in 1985, wow he has not lost his skillz. Great to see Beatrix again, she's a great hooper also.

Karen bought her mother and daughter with her and it was delightful to see three generations hooping.

Your new folks were nice, I think that was a family. The woman was worried she was going to be stiff tomorrow and I advised her the best cure was to do it again.

And of course, like yourself, I was delighted and surprised by Sue's visit from Northampton. She's good !! I'm sending her a copy of some of the music I played, the Sergio Mendes CD.

Thanks for your hard work and faith to organise these events.

It was great to meet you last week. I took photos but no video this time so Alan's video provides the best record of the afternoon.
Look forward to seeing you in July when I will have to ask you to show me how to do some of those really cool moves you were doing!

    Hello,
I'm a bit new to the tribe's and hoop clubs - can anyone come along? I'd love to meet some hoopers, though if there are any in the South East that would be even better. I've been hooping casually, but I've sort of stuck and not sure what I'm doing, been traveling which doesn't help as I didn't take a hoop with - wish I had now! If so, I'd be interested in joining in in July. =)

      Hi Clare,

The hoop club in Highgate is very informal and anyone can come along and join in. The next one is on 6th July.
There will be hoopers of all levels of ability so feel free to introduce yourself and ask about anything you want to learn. There will be plenty of hoops so don't worry about bringing one if you don't have one at the moment.

      Hi Barb,

      Welcome to London!
Hoop Club is a once a month event so the next Hoop Club at Jacksons Lane is on 6th July. However, I am hoping to entice hoopers out into the sunshine on other Sundays.... while the good weather lasts! As I currently have one or two logistical issues to resolve, I am waiting until I am clear on what is possible before I post any suggestions. Are you staying near the centre or further out in one of the suburbs?

Lots of folks sell hoops over here (including me - I'm based in north London) so it should be relatively easy to get hold of a hoop or two!

Looks like you brought the sun with you!

Hi diana, I'm in Hackney but only till Friday morning. Is that far from where you are? I'm new to London so haven't a clue where anything is!
After Friday I'll be in Wales so would love to get a couple of hoops before i leave... xb PS - how much are the ones you're selling? got any fire hoops?
