Re: Amel Tafsout workshop
Thu, May 22, 2008 - 9:57 AMAmel is amazing. She does have a fantastic presence. She gave a short performance after I workshop I attended in Dublin and it was spellbinding. She went from teacher to performer in a matter of minutes and was totally "in the moment" wonderful. Well worth getting along to a workshop.
Her teaching style is fairly non-technical, very much "follow me" and this worked well, as the dances she was teaching were technically simple but involved lots of expression. She is full of knowledge and experience and a gentle, fun teacher. Be prepared for something special and a little different.
Love it! :) -

Re: Amel Tafsout workshop
Thu, June 5, 2008 - 12:08 PMI agree with everything you say about Amel Donna. I remember Amel saying that you should imagine that you have a golden sun in your heart and your dancing so everyone can feel its radiance. Sounds a bit cheesy, but it reminds me to have a real smile from within and share the enjoyment of dancing as opposed to a stage school cardboard smile!
Both FCBD and Gyosy caravan have done Amel's workshops and rate her highly. She is an anthropologist who has studied the native dances of her country and is the real mccoy!! The real roots of tribal dance.....
Check out her website ...the link is at the top of the page.
