Anyone want to teach me??

topic posted Sat, March 10, 2007 - 11:03 PM by  offlineWhim! / Jaym...
I will mak eyou dinner. Or teach you poi or staff moves. Or something.

I want to learn how to do hats. I am having trouble with this. Knit and crochet... my skills are VERY rudimentary.

I haven't even tried hats yet. Probably because I'm not interested in them for myself (have I ever told you how bad hats look on me? It's kind of strange, really.) Whim-- I only crochet. I've been making only scarves of all sorts and baby blankets-- experimenting with different patterns, borders and fancy edging. That said, I've spent all evening printing crochet patterns. I found a few HOT bikini patterns. That is my ultimate goal, but I don't need to frustrate myself just yet.

I'd gladly teach you what I know, but like I said-- I don't (yet) do hats. I'll probably make baby hats first, since they can be donated to this fantastic non-profit organization with which I'm loosely affiliated. Once I can make the teeny ones, I'm sure I can figure out the adult sizes.

Your request sounds like a call for another MEETING!
I bet that we could even spit out a few leaves for that art project for the thing in the desert...

Hmmm. I wouldn't mind learning some staff myself. I'm a whiz at crochet but don't make hats. Perhaps it's time for another LACK meeting. Anyone up for hosting?

Oh, how I wish I could, but my place is not big enough for me alone.
It would be great, though, as there are a lot more members on this tribe now.
If we don't find anyone who is able to host, is there any place in L.A. that we could meet-- in public? in a park? at the beach?
        I'll keep thinking.

I'm in Simi Valley... would be happy to host if you want to make the drive.

I'd be interested in attending the next meet-up, I live in North Hollywood now! Unfortunately, I can't host since I live in a tiny studio apartment. I'd be down to drive to Simi Valley sometime though.

Well, someone can organize. I'd be willing to host again. I would prefer Saturday, daytime if that is possible. Everyone call out the time they're willing to do it and we'll make it a date!

Oh, also last time, I offered to teach a particular method of most things (I know a lot, but I don't know everything). So if you have something you want to learn in particular, let me know and I'll look it up for the group meeting.
