Meeting at coffeehouses and places like that sounds like such a great idea. That way no one is bothered to play host (unless you want to, and then by all means, say the word).

1) if you are interested in meeting, because some people may not be but just wish to join here on tribe alone--( which is great as well!)
2) where you live (general area, if you're comfortable saying)
3) which part of L.A. would be most convenient to join in on our little meet-ups.

2) I live in Ventura County (about halfway between LA and Santa Barbara).

I live in the Silverlake/Glendale area.
I can travel pretty much anywhere in the city as long as it's not too far IE - Long Beach and places too far north or south.

Good locations for me are Hollywood, West Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silverlake, Glendale, Burbank, Lower Valley - Anything further than Van Nuys would be difficult. Since I go to sleep between 10-11 as long as it is less than an hour drive from home I can do it. -

I don't mind a long drive-- my Civic *aches* for it! :-)

When I am able to come out my preference is someplace that is local to a train... as in metro, redline, blue line ...
