I'm working on a scarf. I gave up on the shawl as it was taking too long, but I can bust scarves out like nobody's business!
Shan, if I may suggest, get the larger needles, the ones about as thick as your thumb. Then get the thicker, loftier yarns and you won't believe how fast those scarves get cranked out!

Mon, November 7, 2005 - 9:46 AMI started a pair of socks for my housemate about six months ago and never finished, even though I only had about two inches left on the second one. But I just knit a scarf for a friend over the weekend. I got some new yarn that I was all excited about... Bernat Galaxy. It's a multicolored, fuzzy, textured novelty yarn with a little mohair in it and it's super-soft. I love it!
