I'm kinda new to the world of knitting, and crochet, though not to the world of crafting. I've been struggeling to teach myself out of books and online, but I would love to get involved with a group to share ideas and maybe even master this wonderous skill . hehe. Im living out in the Northridge area, as Im attending CSUN for photojournalism. So if there are any events out this way, I'd love to be a part of them.

Hello from this Newbie Knitter

    Hi Julia,

Welcome to our little tribe. I believe we've all been running around busy. Hopefully, we'll get together ASAP.

      • Hello Julia! Thanks for joining us! I look forward to meeting you. I'm just a beginner at crochet, and want to get that down well... which may take years! Hahaha... The group is fun, and slooooowly growing. Good people! Welcome : )
        • Hi Julia,

it's nice to see you here with our little group. We are all at different skill levels but it seems to be working for us well. I'm slightly above beginner in knitting. I tried to teach myself out of books and found it impossible. I took a "class" when I was still in San Francisco and it made a world of difference. Now I can look at the pictures in the books and actually understand what they mean. Hopefully you will be able to make it to the meeting I am trying to get together for next week.

Also, on another tribe someone posted a link to this really great site. www.knittinghelp.com. (if that doesn't work try it with one t... I'm knot the worlds best speller). This sight has videos you can watch to see how it is done. I have personally found that actually seeing the knitting being done is a much better way to learn than trying to figure out the pictures.
