Where is waldo?

Ok I am going to put this out there and see what you all have to say about it...

I am in my late 30's, still single, no children, and feeling flurstrated! I just spent one day last week with one of my best friends from 4th grade. She has 3 kids the younges just turned one and the oldest is 15. (and is about 6 foot) When the kids where away playing she asked me if there was a boyfriend and why didn't I have one? I had no reply to this qusetion. I have friends who are all married and have kids. Some of the kids are in High School now.. One friend has a grad child yes at 36 she has a gradchild. I have had love in my life but I feel like it wasn't the right love at the time.

I have 3 other friends who are the same age and in the same ship as I. We have all talked about it and we just dont have anywhere to go to find men. SO I ask you for help on this subject, where in the world is MY WALDO? Where do single people go to meet other single people? Anyone?

Horizontal & Vertical Love

what I meant to open as subject for discussion was...

That Universal Love - vertical one / love toward God, Buddha`s qualities like enlightenment is..., spiritual awakening, feeling that we are all one... / is usually misused to hide fear of closeness, lack of responsibility toward close one, lack of devotion in relationships, fake spirituality and or spiritual pride.

Horizontal love means ability for mature love, real care, commitment, responsibility , and sometimes when necessary giving up of your own needs to help to another. It can be manifested as love toward family, kids, partner, friends, or entire community as well.

Famous Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, explains that one never can rich vertical level , if do not accept and love on horizontal level - firstly.

I do agree with that.

WHAT IS REAL LOVE?
UNCONDITONAL LOVE: The Love We’ve All Been Looking For

We've heard songs about it, seen it in the movies, heard it talked about on Oprah by relationship experts, and read about it in thousands of self help books. But, what is unconditional love? We all want to feel loved. We think about it, hope for it, fantasize about it, go to great lengths to achieve it, and feel that our lives are incomplete without it. The lack of unconditional love is the cause of most of our anger and confusion. It is no exaggeration to say that our emotional need for unconditional love is just as great as our physical need for air and food.

It is especially unfortunate, then, that most of us have no idea what unconditional love really is, and we prove our ignorance with our horrifying divorce rate, the incidence of alcohol and drug addiction in our country, the violence in our schools, and our overflowing jails.

Our misconceptions of unconditional love began in early childhood, where we saw that when we did all the right things—when we were clean, quiet, obedient and otherwise “good”—people “loved” us. They smiled at us and spoke in gentle tones. But we also saw that when we were “bad,” all those signs of “love” instantly vanished. In short, we were taught by consistent experience that love was conditional, that we had to buy “love” from the people around us with our words and behavior.

So what’s wrong with conditional love? We see it everywhere we look, so what could be wrong with it? Imagine that every time you pay me fifty dollars, I tell you I love you. We could do that all day, but at the end of the day would you feel loved? No, because you’d know that I “loved” you only because you paid me. We simply can’t feel fulfilled by love we pay for. We can feel loved only when it is freely, unconditionally given to us. The instant we do anything at all to win the approval or respect of other people—with what we say, what we do, how we look—we are paying for the attention and affection we receive, and we can’t feel genuinely loved.

A NEW DEFINITION OF LOVE: REAL LOVE

There’s only one kind of love that can fill us up, make us whole, and give us the happiness we all want: unconditional love or true love. It is unconditional love that we all seek, and somehow we intuitively realize that anything other than that kind of love isn’t really love at all—it’s an imitation of the real thing.

Unconditional love—true love—is so different from the kind of love most of us have known all our lives that it deserves both a name—Real Love—and definition of its own: Real Love is caring about the happiness of another person without any thought for what we might get for ourselves. It’s also Real Love when other people care about our happiness unconditionally. It is not Real Love when other people like us for doing what they want. Under those conditions we’re just paying for love again. We can be certain that we’re receiving Real Love only when we make foolish mistakes, when we fail to do what other people want, and even when we get in their way, but they don’t feel disappointed or irritated at us. That is Real Love (true unconditional love), and that love alone has the power to heal all wounds, bind people together, and create relationships quite beyond our present capacity to imagine.

I have always said that You should love yourself before someone else. Even thougth i am a plus size girl. I have always worked on myself and loved my self for who I was and who I am.
I have friends that are the same way.
I seem to be in a rut of some kind and not sure how to get out of it. most of my friends are married or like me single and working 2 jobs. When I go out it is with my single friends. I have tryed to hold a conversation with men. Just to find it is a waist of time or come way with nothing. Not that i get to talk to that many men as it is. I still love me for me... but why can't i find a guy that see's what I see in myslef. Is there a catch?

This is my first message blog on this tribe, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Try'n to keep myself up these days. (feeling lonely with out a soul mate) I have once agian had friends come to my risque. (grins) I was take'n over the weekend to my very first SCA event. Oh how I always wanted to go to one.This was do to who you know and not what you know. I stayed and camped on the Island of misfit toys where I was shown so much love and understanding. I hated to leave to come home to a empty house. Even though I was ask and even told that I was comeing to others event to stay on the Island. Was given alot of good advice. I have had alot of friends that were and still are in the SCA, I am so very happy and full of love that i have found a good home on the Island of misfit toys.
Oh and Happy earth day to all give thanks to our mother earth if you get a chance.

It hasnt hit me yet...

On April 7th, 2006 he died in Atlanta. He died only a short time after trying to find me again. I had to tell him I wanted nothing to do with him, but that was not what I wanted for myself. He came out here for me 6 years after our relationship ended. Six years of denying my own emotions because I am an idiot... A stubborn dumb idiot. I just found out a few hours ago that he passed away. I will never again have the chance to ask the questions I wish I knew the answers to. I can never hear his voice again. I will never be able to hold him again. I can never tell him how I really feel. We will never finish that last song we were writing together. He wanted to hear my voice one more time, and I denied him that last request. I am numb from shock and an overwhelming amount of pain. He is gone, and I cant help thinking it is partly my fault. If I had made different decisions...we would have been on a different path. I was supposed to marry him once...but that was a dream from a different time. That was before I worked on my own issues. I was too young to understand that love like that only comes once in a life time, and only if you are lucky enough to find it.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 months now and I found out by accident when I used his computer that he's been dating women on the internet the whole time he was dating me. He's the kind of person who avoids confrontations and expects the problem to go away by itself so I am having a problem broaching the subject to him without making him feel that I have been snooping into his private affairs. Another question

Ok........how do you guys separate yourself from the person that you are no longer with? I know that if we had never gotten together, she would most likely be doing whatever she is doing now anyway and I would never know the difference........so why is it so important to me what she is doing now?? Because I am now emotionally attached to her, I am constantly wondering how she is doing, where she is, with who, etc. (I was never possesive or jealous), so why do I care???? Question #2....I have forgiven her in my heart for hurting me, because I know what her initional motivation was, but I still feel hurt and sadness daily, though it is better, when does that end?? Anyone??

that silly dream

I had a dream last night about my ex boyfriend. He was trying to avoid me...then as I was leaving I told him it was his last chance to talk to me if he wanted to. He followed me and repeatedly asked why I left him, but I couldn't answer. My head was blank...and for a few moments after I wokeI felt like I never had no reason.
I really felt for a brief amount of time that I was over him, but I guess being down in Southern Cali always reminds me of him. Everywhere I go memories of him and I together bombard me. It's like walking through a time warp of old emotions. I know he doesn't love me, and that is what helped me get on with my life, but now I'm second guessing myself. It's been over 6 years. I wish I had control over my own emotions. I wish I could logically choose to love whom I want.

Let us become the Love and Light, that each may see it as a beacon and follow it with trust and so link with the Divine Source

Let us remember to laugh and have fun. Life is not a burden, it is pure joy. It is entirely up to you.

Let us recognise that we are but channels for the Divine Light that it is not our ego incarnated identity that originates the help we give, but the God/All in All that is {however we perceive that to be} and that we simply add our humble self to carry it in our own special and unique ways.

Let us make the journey from the head to the heart knowing that, whereas the mind may lead us in circles, the heart will lead us home. Let us steer clear of "should" and "must" that stem from the mind and instead stay in the "now" and experience the intuitive response of the heart with its right feeling, trusting that this is our connection to ~God~ and it will lead us to where we are most able to help.

Let us be grateful to each person that we have interacted with in our lives, thanking them within our hearts for being willing to act as a mirror, reflecting to us what we need to learn. Let us know that we magnetise these situations and people toward us to show us clearly those areas of life where we need to be more unconditionally loving, or to reflect positive qualities within ourselves that we may not have recognised yet.

Let us spread only positive thoughts and discipline ourselves in this, realising that as we become more our true Selves, greater care in this is needed.

Let us make no judgment of self or others, for each is seeking to learn and experience in his/her own unique way, to take that wisdom back to the whole. To realise that if there were only one way to do something there would need be only one person.

Let us channel and spread light across the Earth, such as never before. Let us stand fully in our truth, willing and without fears, to speak that which comes intuitively from the heart. Let us be the self that we truly are.

Let us encourage all to take back their power, to be the master and seek the truth within themselves.

Let us be discerning and align with Light. There are many ways to learn and you may prefer to align your energies with those whose goals are similar to yours. Make no judgments of anyone and maintain Unconditional Love to all.

Let us trust the higher God aspect of ourselves and have faith that all is well and in Divine Order. To know that we truly do create our own reality and our own experiences, to serve only our highest good.

Let us take full responsibility for our actions and thoughts but let us also know that responsibility is not a heavy burden, but a joy that comes naturally and with ease, as we become more fully ourselves.

Let us not allow our healing to become mechanical, but allow for fluidity and intuition to guide us through each moment, permitting the flow of Divine energy to move through us.

Let us be willing to release all that is not truly us. Let us permit the releasing of all buried emotions and thought and allow the mental and emotional bodies to integrate and blend into Spirit.

Let us be aware of the other kingdoms with whom we share this Earth, the lovely crystal and mineral world, the wonderful plants, trees and flowers and great oceans, all bringing to us a myriad healing qualities through the exquisite vibration that can reach us all. Let us also remember the world of the elementals that maintains the Earth for us.

Let us seek to assist others to further awareness of a need for love and care of our precious animal and insect world on land and sea. Let us share our world in love with all God’s creatures.

Let us, with integrity, speak only that which we know within as true, whilst making it clear to others, that it is only our truth as we perceive it. Each should accept only that which resonates within the heart, and sits comfortably in that place of the three fold flame; the Love, Power and Wisdom that resides within us all.

Let us always look higher to see the greater picture and the Divine Order of all things and not limit ourselves to a third dimensional reality.

Let us understand the right use of Power and Truth, gifted to all, as full service to the light is taken up. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

Let us also be grateful to the Ascended Realms of Light, angels and guides, mostly unrecognised and unacknowledged, never failing to extend to us the gifts of their energy, presence and love. Let us release our fixed patterns about when, from whom and in what manner we will be presented with Universal Truth. Know that each receives in his own way and that there is no set or right way.

OLD FLAMES AND HURT CAN GO AWAY

I just moved to a new city because of a drug addiction. It was not good and for three years i spent it with a man who i truly loved with my whole heart and soul. He broke up with me(hes 36 almost 37) because he was tired of being with one person who was willing to try new things but not those things. I know that he didnt mean to and wanted me to try new things im a bit slower, and when it comes down to it i dont mind a whole lot. But he seemeed to be unhappy unless hes got more theam one on the team. We also had a drug addiction as well as i and we just couldnt get it down right., it just wasnt meant to work as long as we were doing drugs. Now heres the prob. i changed geogrphically as well as physically, i met a man. Hes aussum. He is always polite and treats me like a queen . He pays for everything, opens doors. I know this is his true self because he never ever changes. Always on the go for anyone who needs it as well as working. He is also a single parent with one child. Im very disillusioned the dream man is what i want my ex to be becasue i love him still heart and soul. So i have a dilemma. I kknow in the pros and cons things which one i should pick, but am i in love or obsessedd. I WANT THEM BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For different reasons. I need some input from some real people out there that havent necisarily had the same problem as me but someone who can give advice as well. I know that the final decision is mine, butHELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!!!!!

I NEED HELP WITH LOVE ER NOT

I was with my boyfriend for three years. We got into drugs lots of different drugs/ It ended up in a bad place. He is going to jail.. I never took total respnsibility for the charges because i was mad at him becasue he was sleeping with everything he could put his dick in from 17 and up. We are both 36 i couldnt get over the fact that he was sleeping with gitls that could be as young as our daughter. Now that were not together, all i can think of is him. I cry steady and i cant stop obsessing. I dont know what to do . Im in counselling, and ive rtried to get in touch with him but he says he loves me but we cant be togetrher. Half the time tmy throat feels like its in my heart. I didnt have to be vendictive to get back at him but i did. Now i can not live with it. I feel sick alwaysa. I love him alot, and one stupid mistake put him in jail when i was the only one that could probably lessend his sentence. Please how do i live with myself. It wasnt the greatest relationshiop but why did i go this far, ill never forgive myself.
