Wed, April 26, 2006 - 11:05 AMbecause I am a starving student, & sponsoring costs money: airfare, hotel room, printing expenses, advertising expenses, $$$$ for the instructor's hourly rate(generally hundreds of dollars per hr.)
It costs thousands of dollars. Last time I tried to sponsor someone ( she has 6 well-known instructional videos) in the Bay Area, I had eight people sign up to dance in the show, and only one person actually registered for the workshop. It didn't even pay for the space rental, and I had to cancel the event. -
