Hello Ladies!
My name is Araxie Nanshe and I just moved to Eugene from Boise, Idaho. I've been belly dancing for about 2 years, all of which was with Cairo Fusion under the direction of the lovely and talented Samira Il Naia. I anxiously await the belly dance community here Eugene and can't wait to start taking some classes and getting to know you ladies.

Have you heard of MEDGE? It's the Middle Eastern Dance Guild of Eugene and it's a great way to get in touch with local dancers and to perform. Check out www.medge.org

Yes, check out MEDGE for the local scoop, and there's a ton of amazing dancers of all styles in this town: Luminessa for tribal/fusion, Sabine for ATS (www.sabinedance.com), myself and Astryd for Egyptian/cabaret (www.raziadance.com and www.danceastryd.com) to name a few! Yes I did a little research on the community before I got here so now the next step is to start taking some classes! I'm thinking pretty seriously about maybe starting my own troupe but I want to network a little more and get to know the community one on one. I'm so excited to get started!

Thu, April 23, 2009 - 1:04 PMHi all, I wanted to get to know the Belly Dance scene in Eugene, I am moving there and will be relocated by July. I am a Tribal Fusion instructor here in Indiana, known as The Gypsy Wagon/Utopia Tribal. I am also a photographer. My background and dance style is interpretive, Fusion, Vaudeville. My daughter is dancing as well developing a Irish Fusion...She is a Irish dancer as well. My background is in cultural dance, Irish and Native Powwow. I was also a Kung Fu instrutor for years until a knee injury. My gold medalist girls team lives in Eugene now. My BD instructors are Jill Parker, Zoe, Jennifer Rose (Fabala), Alessandra from Costa Rica. I have done quite a bit of travel to get good instruction. I am looking to teach in the Veneta area....
