Hello Forest Family & Friends~
For those of you that do not know, The Austin Enchanted Forest needs your help after being denied their Temporary Use Permit by the city of Austin.
This permit has allowed The Forest to provide an alternative outdoor venue for supporting local and national musicians, artists, performers, freaks, and Austinites for the last 5 years.
But alas one of Austin's best kept secrets and underground icons is in serious jeopardy of closing and we need your help!
Can you raise money for the numerous and costly hoops The Forest is going to have to jump through?
As in most cases little can be accomplished without it and if we can't host events to raise the funds, we need you to canvass on The Forest's behalf!
Be nice! It's easy to piss people off and we all know the catching flies with honey bit... If you have top bite your tongue.
Do it! Even if it bleeds!
Save the barking and attacks for the appropriate time and place! Please...
Email or Call the following people and organizations asking for their support and help.

Re: Help Save Enchanted Forest
Thu, July 24, 2008 - 5:20 PMi just got back from the meeting at city hall. lots of hoops to jump through and they don't start with HULA.
I am also headed down there to the forest to take them a wireless router if it will help them with internet.
About 50-80 people showed up. I don't head count well but it was crowded and we did not even get to talk with the council. -

Fri, July 25, 2008 - 6:16 AMactually there were about 40....just seemed like more since we were in a tiny area in the lobby. I sat with Albert a while last night at the forest and after the mosquitos ate me up, I went home. He is in really good spirits though, considering.

because of our apperance at city hall during city council, the chief of staff of mayor winns office approached me and has set an appointment for thursday afternoon to find a resolution that will be acceptable to both the city and the preservation of the forest. it is because of your tremendous support that this has occured at all. i thank you and the forest thanks you from the bottom of my heart.
