Belly Dance Winter 2011: A Seed is a Small Thing

The Goddess Dancing Thu, December 30, 2010 - 2:30 PM by The God...

And it must be planted to grow. Like hearing that you are loved and wanted, like seeing a smile you have put on another’s face, like smelling again what once belonged to a happy moment in childhood, like tasting salt brightening all our food reminding us of our tears, like feeling peace when we give our worries a rest. These must all be planted inside of us to grow. Our small seeds are hard to make, hard to give, and hard to receive. Why? Perhaps it’s because we’re human not vampires, not time travelers, not demons, or werewolves, or elves. Not princes, not queens, not gladiators, or pirates, or aliens. We’re just human, in very human bodies. This brings us round to seeds, very human seeds, again. Prepare your body well with water and sunshine, movement and rest, and most of all breath. Then these precious seeds will find a way to plant themselves, deep inside of you, and like true fantasy, begin to grow.

Can belly dance keep your garden green? Well, we think so! A shimmy here, an undulation there, and a dash of creative adornment bring health to any garden. Join us for a lesson via dvd, for a week of classes, for a season of belly dance, it’s up to you!

In this season of gratitude, we remind ourselves that we keep the balance of spreading the shade of belly dance over many gardens, while staying grounded in our daily unbellyldance lives. We are pulling from our local taproot to sustain all our leafy branches. Thank you for being part of our taproot!
