Just got back from my first pride. Loved it!!
I just wish I had it in me to strike up a conversation with all the hot guys I was drooling over. I'm soo going back when I'm 21 and hitting the gay bars to lose me my virginity./get a boyfriend/ kissed, whtever comes my way. I'm just way too picky for my own good. Because I'm pretty sure The guys I like would never give me a second glance. But one never knows.... :)

Re: First pride!!
Mon, June 27, 2005 - 4:47 PMBlue -- Regret is an awful thing sometimes.
When I was 17, I had a huge crush on my best friend, who was 16. Turns out that he had a crush on me. Neither of us had the guts to make the first move. This went on for a year - until I went to college. During our high school year together, we vicariously acted out our passion for each other through our individual trysts and inappropriate relationships with older men. I was dating a guy who was 27 while he was dating a guy who was 25.
Jump ahead 8 years ... I'm in line to board a plane with my lover, headed to my hometown to spend Thanksgiving with the family. Lo and behold, my best friend from my high school years -- the guy who I had that crush on -- was one of the flight attendants. Catching up on what had happened in our lives, we fessed up to everything -- the mistake of not making a move on each other, the unrequited lust ... and I realized the regret I had for not doing something about it.
When you get older, you usually don't say, "I wish I had watched more television." Likewise, you usually DO scold yourself for not wresting control of a situation that was so apparent, so obvious ...
Stop drooling and start acting on your urges. If you see someone you like, at least go up and meet them. So what if they don't feel the same way toward you that you do toward them??? You might also encounter some truly interesting people along the way, too.

Re: First pride!!
Tue, June 28, 2005 - 12:31 AMI'm glad you had a good time, too. While I too think regret is an unfortunate thing to wrestle with later in life, it's inevitable. Plus, I'd hate for you to regret moving too fast. Take your time, enjoy the experience of coming out, meeting people, learning about the queer community--the good and the bad, and exploring your sexuality. Above all, play safely. We need good hearted, positive gay men out there, so I'd hate to lose you.

Tue, June 28, 2005 - 1:18 PMThanx all,
I actually don't feel all that much regret.
I wish something had happened, and it turns out it all most did!
I went to pride with a lesbian named Emily and her friends. We ran into one of her friends- with a guy intow. He was really cute and we talked for about ten minutes before our groups went their separate ways. Emily gets a call from her friend saying that Cody-his name-Couldn't stop talking about me, and"wanted to make out with me hella bad" If they hadn't got split up she would have brought him over!! That would have been SO awesome. Somebody I met in person thought I was cute!! I'm happy. -
