Tha BIG BANG

lets share our theories about the big bang-
personally i thinks its a highly likely crock of shit, mostly because it seems to put limits on existence, a certain amount of matter, a set amount of time, basically i think it is way too related to the laws of physics available on this planet and nearby systems that we can see well enough to study. it also relates to our own sense of time which we only have because we are alive.
do you believe that the periodic table makes up infinity? do you believe there are only 7 colors in the light spectrum?
i think we have categorized existence based on the limits of human perception.

"do you believe that the periodic table makes up infinity? do you believe there are only 7 colors in the light spectrum? "

With respect to the periodic table, heavier elements, while theoretically possible, have not been shown to exist, and even when they are created, they last for infinitesimal periods of time. No amount of philosophizing will make gold as abundant as hydrogen.

Why do you call the spectrum a light spectrum? Science regards the electromagnetic spectrum as continuing far beyond the visible in both directions. Microwaves are the same thing as green light; so are X-rays and radio waves. The difference between red and green is of the sane nature as the difference between television signals and what you cook your food with.

The benefit of science, and categorisation, is that we can create things like the internet; while philosophy about what could be ends up in dusty books on forgotten shelves.

True, we must not be swept away by science and ignore all the realms not covered by science, but the opposite; calling science a crock of shit, seems pointless.

Oh - I forgot; the reason we see 7 colors, or rather distinguish 7, is because we have 3 color-sensitive pigments in our eyes.

There are 8 ways these can be switched on or off:

    000
    001
    010
    011
    100
    101
    110
    111

So if you count black as an 8th color; thats why we see 8 colors. Its true the spectrum is continuous, but just as we do not call microwaves part of the "light spectrum", simply because we cant see them; likewise we "see" 7 colors, because that is the number of possible ways that our sensors can be triggered. If we had 4 kinds of photoreceptors, we would see more colors; if we had only one sensor, we would only see black and white.

Its a biological reason; not some arbitrary invention of some authoritative fascist. :)

Science is a wonderful thing, the modern magic, but with logical explanation, creating and explaining, and allowing me to have intelligent conversation with intelligent people i otherwise would have never met, we are truly growing together as one., but i think the big bang is terribly flawed, almost ridiculous, the other things i mentioned about colors and elements was just an example of the limitations most people accept, who's to say there aren't more elements, in fact i believe there are an infinite number of elements, we really have such a small bubble , and in my opinion no right the think it stops there. although there limitations placed upon us by our human bodies, example
If our eyes had more pigments, in a different mix of elements, we would receive different waves and rays, and behold a new color, the stumper ? imagine it. describe it without using any word that might be in a box of crayons- you cannot, you cannot even imagine it, it is beyond that which has no words to describe because you cannot even feel it or visualize it, limitation.
not that we suck, we are perfectly apt to survival on this planet. we are beautiful creatures, evolution has given us all that is necessary .
now to figure out how this driven wonder we all possess(everyone here anyways) is necessary.
there will always be another question, and you can never be happy with the answer,in fact you can never be 100% happy- its what drives you further.

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law

it's perhaps important to point out that the author of the "big bang" theory was not actually a proponent of same. the title "big bang" itself was, in fact, a joke. i personally find the theory extremely dissatisfying, but exoteric cosmogenesis (wow that sounds pretentious as shit! what a phrase! hah i gotta remember that one...) isn't an area of expertise for me

"do you believe that the periodic table makes up infinity?"

no, like most people who use the perdiodic table i believe that the periodic table describes the periodicy that's observed with atomic elements and can be used to predict behavior and structure.

"do you believe there are only 7 colors in the light spectrum? "

no, like most people who study light i believe that there are only seven basic colors in the spectrum visible to humans. the higher and lower frequencies are currently known as the infrared spectrum and the ultraviolet spectrum (which i'm sure you're aware of.)

i respectfully suggest that both questions confuse the map with the territory
