hello!
just to preface... i'm a complete newbie to magic. i work in theater, and a show i'm working on needs this effect...
A person would need to walk onstage, snap their fingers a create a flash of fire, which would drop onto a piller candle and light it. i know there's flash cotton and finger flints and things, but i have no idea how to make this work.
any thoughts?
thanks in advance!

Re: help for an ultra-newbie Re: finger flame
Fri, August 11, 2006 - 11:58 AMHi Elle,
Jeff McBride makes a candle that kinda looks like a pillar candle that lights with a press of a button (its actually butane) You could use flash paper and a finger unit, make your flash and with your other hand hit the ignition button on the candle. As for dropping the flame you could use flashpaper but you might have trouble controllng the drop so it lands on the candle. There are flame shooters that can be made witha glow plug and are also available comercially
