Wed, June 21, 2006 - 9:24 AMconcurring, Pritam -- I think KD is the best out there. his Door of Faith cd is soooo beautiful!
also if you download Live365 free online streaming radio and find the stations called Celestial Music Radio and Sacred Sounds Radio, there's a lot of good kirtan stuff on there. google oughta bring them up.

Re: your favourite chant cd's
Fri, June 23, 2006 - 7:09 PMI'm really fond of one that our kirtan band did -- based on a super-healing mantra just given in the USA from our spiritual teacher, an Indian miracle saint named Kaleshwar. you can hear the cd at www.karmatalk.com/storefront.htm -- there's an MP3 file there. the whole cd is a 37-minute constant flow of the mantra, done 54 times.

Re: your favourite chant cd's
Sat, June 24, 2006 - 4:30 PMOddly enough, it's Gurumayi's "OM Namah Shivaya." The aunt & uncle who got me into yoga used to play it at bedtime for their children, and I really loved it. Lost the tape a while back and haven't sought out the CD.

Re: your favourite chant cd's
Wed, July 26, 2006 - 1:10 PMThere is an absolutely fabulous selection of devotional music on eMusic.com. It's the only music service out there that I thought enough of to subscribe. I pay $20 a month and get 90 downloads each 30 day cycle (you can also purchase booster-packs for additional downloads). I end up getting anywhere from 5-10 whole albums every month. I highly recommend it!
I made a public list of all my favourite devotional music there:
www.emusic.com/lists/showlist.html
My absolute favs are Girish, whose music sounds very much like Jack Johnson, but is all Eastern devotional. Caitlin's Sacred Mantras: Laxmi's Dream is also amazing. Tina Malia's "Jaya Bhagavan" has the most beautiful sung version of the Gayatri that I have ever heard, and the rest of the tracks are also fantastic.
Hope that helps!

Re: your favourite chant cd's
Tue, November 7, 2006 - 6:41 PMI Love all of it especially what was already mentioned KD really opened it up for me and I love Wah, Jai Uttal and Bhagavan Das too
but one not many people know of is Shyamdas.... He was one of the poeple who were touched by Neem Karoli Baba ( KD, Ram Dass, Jai Uttal, Bhagavan Das being the others)
He is very devotional to Shri Krishna (he spends 9 months out of the year in India and then does about 3 months of Kirtan/Satsang ( He is as much about satsang as he is kirtan). If you need more detailed info please contact me or my friend Kamaniya who promotes him (he won't promote himself!!!)
He has 3 CDs now"
Beloved
Sweet Radhe
I believe you can order from sacredwoods108@aol.com or via Ananda Ashram Gift Store or via me through my dad shambhu or Via Kamaniya.
Om Shantih, Snatih Shantih
Cool Dual (reocrded live at Ananda Ashram-- I was there!!!!!!) -

Re: your favourite chant cd's
Fri, January 26, 2007 - 5:00 AMEverything by my Guru, Bhagavan Das, is beautiful and soaked in Shakti. Begin with: <bhagavandas.myshopify.com/produ...ow-cd>
Arjun (of Arjun & Guardians) is an incredible kirtan wallah, and many of his CDs feature other musical genres too (this guy is a musical genius!). Start with: <cdbaby.com/cd/bhajananandi>
Dave Stringer has the best voice in all of chanting, and his harmonies are sometimes so sweet they make me weep. Check out: <cdbaby.com/cd/davestringer1>
Kailash (that's me!) has a couple of devotional chanting CDs out that you might check out: <cdbaby.com/cd/kailash>, and <cdbaby.com/cd/kailash2>
