I just got this crazy idea from reading a post on a west coast Pagan tribe. It would be cool to get a group together to go on a car-camping trip this summer. It could be a great family adventure and we could incorporate campfire drumming/singalongs and a circle with day hikes, kayaking, canoeing, frisbee, marshmallow-roasting, s'more making, and all those fun camping experiences.
I'm pretty much booked for the month of July with family "from away" visiting, but August is always nice for camping. I may even be able to borrow a friend's camp on Crooked River in Otisfield. It's quiet and private, has a tiny beach and a beautiful overlook of the river. There are plenty of public campgrounds and also "sacred space" rentals we could look into, as well.
If you're interested in participating and/or helping to plan such an event, let me know.

Re: A Pagan Campout?
Thu, January 26, 2006 - 5:35 AMIf it's in Maine, I might be interested. Although, timing would be a big thing for me. I do work weekends, but if it was a week long camping trip or even a four day camping trip, I might be able to partake and/or help with planning and such.

Sun, January 29, 2006 - 10:50 AMThat sounds like fun. We'd hoped to host a small Pagan gathering ourselves, but for all intents and purposes we've lost the site we'd hoped to use, at least for this year. I like your idea, and now's the time to start figuring out what/where/when.
