making a collaborative calendar or art show

Has anyone of you wonderful artists had success in the publication/ commercial sale of your art in the art show/calendar/greeting card/sticker forms?
These forms are particularly suited to mandala art. Anyone interested in doing a combined/ collaborative art show or a publication effort such as a calendar? I know that these works are our holy children and are very dear to us. I know that money has a way of changing things and is strange to associate with these beautiful expressions of our inner visions. However, It is my belief that these creations come through us for sharing with others to benefit the many . We could also benefit our lives in some fashion , financially, gaining experience in the promotion of the work and the near infinite returns of the giving of a gift to others that might be instrumental to their liberation/ inspiration. Just something to think about, debate and discuss.

CREATION OF THE COMPASSION PEACE MANDALA
A Benefit Workshop with Bhutanese Thangka Artist Lama Pema Tendzin

This is a beautiful and rare opportunity to learn the ancient art of traditional sacred thangka painting from a master artist and lineage holder. Lama Pema Tendzin has paintings in permanent and private collections throughout the United States including the San Francisco Asian art museum. Additionally he has had the honor of creating beautiful ceremonial thankas for the Dalai Lama.

Lama Pema Tendzin began studying the sacred art of thangka under the tutelage of his teacher Buli Tulku Rinpoche since he was six years old. More than paintings, thangkas are potent tools for meditation, contemplation and transformation.

For this special workshop, Lama Pema Tendzin will be leading us in the creation of the Compassion Peace Mandala. The day opens with meditation, mantra and prayers.

We will then draw and paint the mandalas together under this master artist's tutelage. When the painting is completed Lama Pema and Tsewong Sitar Rimpoche will lead us in a mantra, prayer and blessing to activate the mandala. This workshop gives participants active creative time with these very special beings in the creation of a potent piece of art that will Benefit all Beings.

A SPECIAL BENEFIT:

All proceeds from this event will go towards a special painting of Guru Rimpoche Padmasambhva. This painting measuring 30 feet high by 25 feet high will be placed on the mountainside next to the Sangye Tang monastery in Bhutan.

Guru Rimpoche Padmasambhava is recognized as the principle teacher to bring Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th Century. The painting, which will be completed in February of 2008, was revealed in a vision to Lama Pema's brother Tsewong Sitar Rinpoche. Tsewong Sitar Rimpoche is the head of Sangye Tang monastery in Eastern Bhutan. Founded in the late 1500's, this monastery is in view of one of Padmasambhava's sacred pilgrimage sites. The painting will promote blessings, peace and rejuvenation.

It was kind of an experiment to see what kind of artists and people I could connect with about mandalas. it has turned out to be a great venue for some amazing people. the place of Mandalas

Have any of you wonderfull artists been to that place in conciousness where you see nothing but mandalas when you close your eyes? However you got there, have you been able to go back later? Consiously and on pourpose? Please post your various experiences with that place,how you got there, what you saw ,if you created art to reflect your experience and any lasting psyhological/emotional/spiritual insights you might have gained. I ask because I wish to better understand my own creative impulse and the source of inspiration for the mandalas.

Dreamer of the visions of all men
Theacher of the twelve fold rites of the sun

Seed of the names of all things
Seer of all entrances and partings
