vasu devaya.....ram, ram sita ram......
So I've been looking on CD liner notes and all over the internet and still can find an English translation.
What does the above mantra mean?
I'm going to be performing/dancing to Krishna Das's version of it. Krishna Das with the help of my bf, who edited my favorite bits together and cut it down to 4 minutes.
Many thanks...

I bow to Bhagavat or Prostrations to Bhagavat.

    Namo - I bow

    Bhagavate - to Bhagavat

Bhagavat is a name for the Lord that can be translated various ways. Radiant One, Fortunate, Glorious. Often it is even just translated as Lord or God.

Oh sorry I thought you wanted to know the mantra in the subject......

As with most of Krishna Das' stuff these are really just names of God.

vasu devaya - The Vasudevas are a class of gods from the Rigveda. Vasudeva is also a common epithet of Vishnu and Krishna. the -ya suffext means 'to', so 'to Vasudeva'.

ram, ram sita ram - Ram is Hindi for Rama (the Avatara of Vishnu) and Sita is His consort and a fertility/prosperity goddess from the Rigveda. Sita literally means furrow.
