$10-20 sliding scale

Be part of our intimate showcase concerts of local and international live musical talent in our beautiful home in North Oakland. In June, get up close and personal with musical genius Mark Deutsch, inventor of the Bazantar.

What's a Bazantar? Essentially combining the best of both classical Indian and Western stringed instrumentation, the Bazantar is a five-string acoustic bass, fitted with an additional twenty-nine sympathetic strings and four drone strings. The instrument possesses a melodic range of over five octaves, while its sympathetic range spans four octaves. What that means to your ears is a hauntingly beautiful and unique sound that should be experienced at least once, and brings people who have heard it back again and again.

Come be part of the experience!

Our intimate house concert series is a special treat, allowing you to get up close and personal with the artist. There is limited space available, so we request that you RSVP by emailing wjblackburn@gmail.com or calling 415-240-2052. For more information about Mark Deutsch, go to www.bazantar.com

To keep the music coming and show our deep appreciation for the artist's work, we will ask for a donation at the door. Mark's album, "Fool" will also be available for purchase ($20) during this event.

Some raw food treats, gourmet teas, beer, and wine will be available by donation. Concert guests are welcome to bring their own drinks.

Location: 895 59th Street, Oakland, CA
(please note, though we are in Oakland, online maps list us as Emeryville)

See you in June!
