Wow!
We are blown away by Elevation this year!
1st and foremost, we want to thank each and every person that had a part in Elevation:
Attendees
Teachers
Vendors
Work-Trade Volunteers
Performers
our Video and Audio crews
The crew, management, and ownership of the Buffalo Rose
the indentured servants
and anyone else that had a part in Elevation, no matter how small or how large.
There was some magic that happened. I felt it. I know that most everyone else felt it. We are so grateful for the experience and friendships, both old and new.
We did it all together, and Elizabeth and I are already planning next year's Elevation so we can do it again.
Things in the works for next year:
Dates: April 29th-May 2nd (that's right, 4 days of classes!)
3 fabulous shows:
Thurs night: A Vaudevillian Extravaganza: The Worse the Better
Fri night: Attendee performances with a Catered Middle Eastern Feast
Sat night: The Gala Presentation including: Putting on the Dog: Everyone Dress to Impress (with a Fashion Parade during Intermission)
Confirmed teachers and Performers:
Rachel Brice
Onca and August of the Mezmer Society
Elizabeth Ostteen and Chris Chambers of Tribe Marrakech
(many more to come!)
Love,
Ocean and Elizabeth

Re: Elevation aftermath. Thanks from Elizabeth and Ocean
Fri, April 24, 2009 - 4:55 PMthanks for starting so early I already put in for vacation time plus an extra couple of hours in case i have to shovel more snow. I thought this was the best show i have ever been to because of the way it felt. Thanks for giving me a place to have a yearly family reunion and thanks to elizabeth for keeping my mom dancing, plus with this much notice i wont miss any workshops (like my teachers) because they sold out too fast.

Re: Elevation aftermath. Thanks from Elizabeth and Ocean
Sun, April 26, 2009 - 5:21 PMI am already looking forward to next year. I loved all the teachers that you had, but I would love to see some tribal improv folks on the ticket for next year. Sabine from Tribablation, or Paulette from Gypsy Caravan, or Kajira, or Carolena, just some improv please! I am really glad to see Rachel and Onca and August back for next year too, I loved their workshops and am looking forward to more.
Anyway, thanks again so much for all your hard work and know that we as a belly dance community really appreciate it.

Mon, April 27, 2009 - 3:32 PMI think it would be fun to have Rachel Lazarus Soto back. Ooooo, or the Shakra girls!
I agree with Dian, some tribal improv would be awesome.
I missed the whole thing the past 2 years due to many stupid reasons so I'm totally gearing up to hit the next one BIG TIME.
And of course I totally want Unmata. TOTALLY want Unmata. -
