PARADISE LOST
'THE LOSS OF INNOCENCE
As we walk through Kuta looking around at the empty shops, very few tourists and empty cabs everywhere waiting for that maybe one fare they might get for the day, our thoughts go back to a time before the 'bombs' when your thrilled in the excitement of shopping for a bargain, great dining and making new friends. It was a 'paradise', a fun place to holiday.
The disaster struck with the bombing of the 'Sari' club and 'Paddy's Bar, so amny beautiful lives lost, not only visitors to the island but the local Balinese as well. Tourists were understanably cautious but ventured abck slowly to the island. Then the 2nd bomb struck, this bomb destroyed the whole economic balance of the island. There is no social welfare structure. Bali is 90% dependent on the tourist money. No tourist, no work, no money to survive. The welfare structure is totally dependent on extended families supporting aech other in their tiem of need, but now there are so many families out of work they can no longer offer support to each other.
We understand tourists not returning to Bali, but we are so happy to help out our many Bali 'family' and friends with our exporting range of fashion accessories out of Bali. We are great believers of helping our fellow man in their tiem of need. Just like they helped us survive on our 1st trip to Bali some 10 years ago.
