Reported as "an apparent rarity," the writer fails to mention that it's 3-4 times less rare when the birth is by cesarean.

In an apparent rarity, a 25-year-old Freeland woman has died from complications after a Caesarean section surgery.
Ted Sweetman of Midland said his granddaughter, Jamie L. Sweetman, died Saturday.
He described her as a family woman who kept to herself.
Sweetman is the mother of Brayden N. Sweetman, born Saturday at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland, and 3-year-old daughter Kennedy M. Sweetman.
Debra Gibson, community health director for the Saginaw County Department of Public Health, said deaths during live births are "very unusual." Michigan Department of Public Health officials could not provide information on the number of deaths during live birth in the state.
Among 127,518 births in the state during 2005, 52 mothers died within a year or less, but officials aren't sure how many of those were live birth deaths, said spokesman T.J. Bucholz.
"(Jaime) was a very nice girl. She and her cousins got into little spats, but they were typical things. They were together all the time," Sweetman said. "She was into the family. We had a lot of family get-togethers, and she enjoyed that."
The 2000 graduate of Freeland High School is the daughter of Russell and Gwen Sweetman of Merrill.
She worked at the Michigan CardioVascular Institute in Saginaw. Officials there declined comment.
Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler in Midland, will conduct services at 11 a.m. Thursday. Friends may visit from
2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to

Re: Mother dies after [cesarean]
Mon, February 26, 2007 - 5:05 PMThe Goddess did not intend this to be the way. Look what WE have done & women dying is not enough to stop their way. WE must re-claim birth before she dies
