you take it down from the heaven above, bring it down to the world below, you're a warrior fighting for your soul - this moves me. this is running through my head all the time. i heard about him last year and he's already been to jerusalem. my friend joscelyn bought me a ticket to see him - at The Lab - for my birthday and he was amazing. his young wife and baby were at the show and some of my girlfriends knew her so we met them all afterwards - how cute, sweet and humble they are. i think he has the potential to spread some of the most beautiful ideas in judaism into the world.

I recently 'found' Matisyahu, rapidly become a favorite. I'm in grad school now, so listening to the music reminds me of who I really am, what I'm really fighting for, why to keep going.

i first learned of Matisyahu back in Sept. of 2004 when invited to sell my art at the Chabad festival at Washington Square Park. the two preformers on the bill was Matisyahu and Piamenta. so....my art display table was set up about 10 feet away from the music stage. i'm standing their minding my own business and all of a sudden i hear music starting that was obviously of a reggae flavor, then i hear this voice belting out a few... and i thought to myself what is a reggae singer doing at a lubavitcher fair? all i could say was WOW, the man has got it going on.... great timing, delivery, beats.... just totally dig him.....
