Just a casual question but, who here uses Linux for their Maya works? I know I just got onto Linux and wondered what kind of differences might be expected for Maya, especially on interface.

I work on a PC at home and can use those files at work. The version of maya at work is a "special" cut and tends to crash more than what I use at home but I don't know if that's a typical for the Linux version.

Mon, February 5, 2007 - 6:09 PMthe only thing I've run into is you have to make sure you have the Nvidia glx for your correct kernel installed and you have to make some chages to you .cshrc or .bashrc to get your mouse to behave as your used to.

Sun, February 18, 2007 - 6:00 PMWe use Maya on Linux (ver 7.01) here at Tippett. And we use it on Windows and Macs. If only it'd run on Amigas... sob... -
