Is there anyway to map the texture evenly? Whenever I use "Extrude faces" it stretches the texture and makes it look really crappy.
... I had another question but I can't remember it right now (Darnit!!).

Re: Texture question for Maya 6.0
Wed, September 27, 2006 - 3:53 AMYeah, what you need to know is called UV-layout... It's all in the manual inside of maya.
Cheers!

Re: Texture question for Maya 6.0
Fri, September 29, 2006 - 8:56 PMIt almost sounds like you're using the extrude operation as an animation tool. This would be a bad idea because of the results you're already seeing (creating new UVs ).
Don't worry about texturing until you've finished the modeling. And, just curious but were you trying to animate with extrude? Because there are a few deformers that would be better for animating a polygon face.
hope this helps,

Re: Texture question for Maya 6.0
Sat, September 30, 2006 - 4:29 PMThank you for your help. I wasn't trying to animate with the extrude opperation, just modeling. Yeah, for now I'm done with this part of the model, I'm just trying to get the extured to work right. There are a few other things I need to finish before I'm actually done though.
Have you ever watched LOST? I'm making a model of the Swan Station. I've already made all the rooms, I wanted to texture it before I get started with table, books, desks, beds and other stuff like that.
